The only reason not to have a Vegemite sandwich is if you just had seven.

For those lesser informed people, I'll enlighten you completely. Vegemite is very similar to Marmite, bur very slightly better. If you don't know what either are, then your education has been seriously lacking.
I think I'll have Vegemite on toast

(Note: Amazing. Vegemite is in the spell checker, but Marmite isn't!!)

If you enjoy eating vegemite, then I sy GO FOR IT. You have that vegemite sandwich and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Personally, being a Yank, I don't care too much for vegemite, so I would pass on the sandwich, and go for the penut butter instead.

Isn't that made of salted brewers yeast? I recall watching one of those upbeat America TV morning shows where the news team was convinced to try it live, on air. I think some-one told them it was like an Australian jam or something, because there they were, ladling it on toast and taking big bites while smiling away. The changes of expressions on their faces was priceless. You could tell they were trying to keep up their TV faces, but what they really wanted to do was spit it out as fast as possible. That video has to be on the web somewhere. I'll have to look for it if I get the chance.
Seriously though,
If you know what it is, go for it. If you don't, Try it, you won't know if you like it until you do.

We in Australia always laugh at how it sounds like he's saying, "where women grow and then chunder", which means to throw up.

I do, by the way, come from a land down under, and I would like to say a big hello to all our friends up-over.

Edit: If anyone wants to know what it is, it is a spread that is used on bread. It is basically made from a vegetable extract, which I think provides a nutritious, but visually unappealing, and questionable tasting breakfast treat to to put on your toast.

Some people go as far as to combine it with things like cheese, celery to make even more outlandish down-under 'cuisine'.

Aussies are the only ones who can seem to tolerate the stuff. It's probably best to avoid it unless you grew up with it. I haven't heard any positive remarks about it from non-Australians.
