How old was or is the oldes dog you know?

My dog Charlie a mix beagle and pit, lived for 16 wonderful years. He was the best, most loving animal I ever knew. I miss him terribly. But I have my other two babies, Lady and Lucy, and I love them very, very much.

My vet told me a story about an old couple that came by to ask how to teach their (perfectly healthy) dog not to steal food from the table. He had never seen the dog before, which was surprising because they lived nearby and the dog seemed kind of old.
He was even more surprised when he asked how old the dog was: 23 years!

My grandmothers dog is 15 years and almost 16. That is the oldest dog I ever seen bbut there are proabaly olde dogs then that. It is still alive.
