no, it isn't. walking pneumonia starts as a cold usually, and if you don't expell the phlem in your lungs when you cough, it gets stuck in your chest and attaches and clogs your lungs. when it just sits in your lungs it's like an infection, and that is the pneumonia. the only thing that is contagious is your original cold.

Yes. Walking pneumonia is an infection caused by Mycoplasma pneumonia. This is the most common type of pneumonia in children (70% of all pneumonias in ages 9 to 15).

it is called walking pneumonia, because the person's chest xray looks worse than the person feels. It is contagious, but requires close contact.
