first, you have to change your attitude a bit. don't go looking at everyone as a potential life partner. go out with people, have fun, get to know them. after dating for a few months, you can then start to think about looking at that person for long term potential.
second, you need to think about relationships as an ongoing, active process. that means you are constantly giving and doing things to make that relationship better. everyone is flawed, so if you just look at potential life partners and see the flaws, you will never find someone. you need to find someone that you get along with and have fun with, and then work to develop the potential into a relationship. the cinderella story of finding a man and living in easy bliss ever after is not real.
third, a good way to meet people is through friends. that's how i met my boyfriend and after many months of dating i found that he is the person i want to work on a relationship with for the rest of my life. see if your friends or acquaintances will set you up with someone. this is the best way because the friend will do the pre-screening for you and hopefully set you up with someone they think is a good match.

Quite honestly I met my husband on line! We were in an AOL chat room and talked for a month or so and then we met! We have pretty much been together ever since! That was 5 years ago, we have been married for 2 years and have 2 beautiful little girls together!
That is the honest to God truth, anyone who does not believe me, you can email and ask my husband he will tell you! I am very happy to have found him and would never change a thing about how we met!

I met my significant other at the video store...no kidding here...I used to manage a mom and pop place that just so happened to rent/sell adult materials. He was a regular and we would talk everytime he came in. Kinda strange I know since the majority of the men I would see each day were disgusting pervs...but he was different. He kinda grew on me I guess...that was 7 years ago. We don't go to the adult store anymore tho....I got a different job and the folks they hired after I left just weren't as people friendly.
