First of all, the bible doesn't even begin with 'once upon a time' and end with 'happily ever after'. Second, ya'll are just too stupid.

You hit the nail on the head. They're just too stupid and don't want to believe in God. They want to do whatever they want to not be "bossed" around by God. I don't know, but they don't know what they're missing!

P.S. by stupid I don't mean like they CAN't understand, I mean they are STUBBORN to STUBBORN to even try to understand oh and they are given the right by god to have their own opinion... but thats their choice and they are the ones paying for it in the end! Isn't that sad? You can't really criticize or call them stupid when you think about what's happening to them in the end. So sad.

Well, I'll try to answer this in a way you can accept...

I do not accept the Bible as fact, so you can quote it all you want and it will not mean much to me. Although I *do* believe in God, I have no real reason for it besides a "gut instinct," which is no more valid than another's gut instinct that there is no God.

As for your argument concerning the wording of the Bible, those are merely literary conventions. One could argue that "In the beginning" isn't really that much differrent from "Once upon a time," but I could say "Once upon a time Bill Clinton was President of the United States," so that wording hardly determines the veracity of a statement.

I respectfully suggest that you examine your certitude in the existance of God and consider why you feel that yur beliefs in the unknowable are more valid than anyone else's before you begin calling people stupid for theirs. Disrespectful, perhaps, but not stupid.

First let me say that calling someone names isn't going to get them to listen to you. While some in the group you describe may be stupid, stereotyping them all is unfair and wrong. There are quite a few on your side that would qualify as stupid too. As to why they would call God a fairy tale, some want to believe that there is no god because it allows them to feel good about leading a life that is contrary to His will. For the vast majority though, it is simply a case of being to lazy or too busy to take the time to find out if He is real or not. All people have to do is educate themselves. Many have spent much time, effort, and money learning about "mans" wisdom. If they would put just a small part of that into learning about God from his word the Bible, they would know that He is not a fairy tale or myth.

You sit here and pretend to defend the bible, yet you turn right around and call non believers stupid. Isn't that a double standard? Why YES, yes it is! Now you see why most people don't want to deal with religous flakes, everything is double standards for them and if you prove them wrong on anything they resort to the bible says this the bible says that....the bible is a STORY, nothing more, nothing less

Because the concept of god is a fairy tale. Not all fairy tales Begin with "once upon a time." Furthermore, no one specified the Christian God, so what the Bible says is irrelevant. Thank you for showing your true ignorance.

Let's see... In the beginning..... that sounds a lot like once upon a time doesn't it? And the whole happily ever after is that if you believe in Jesus you're saved and going to heaven for eternity! YAY! ... it totally is a fairy tale.

Because man wrote the bible and men write fairytales. It's ever so human to place ourselves at the center of the universe and at its highest peak.

That and anyone that has actually read the bible realizes how ridiculous it is.

Simply because he is - not everyone believes in YOUR god you know... Theists can be some of the most unaccepting, intolerant, ignorant people I've ever known. Just because one doesn't believe in god, you call them stupid?!? How are you ever supposed to convert people if you push them away with such words? I thought you were supposed to be accepting and all that cheesy, gushy crap like that. Get a life guys.

Call it what you want but just know it is a lie. Their are older religions and books with stories of gods out there than the bible. Christianity was created to control, period! So beware of those fools that keep telling you, God loves you for his son died, f*** them, believe in yourself, the coming of Jesus Christ is just a lie.

Look honey, we don't all share the same beliefs. To many people, God and the bible IS a fairytale. Or just a tale altogether. People are not stupid simply because they disagree with you. Maybe you'll learn that when you get older.

The Judeo/Christian God is a fairytale. About as real as Zeus or Odin. The bible has so many condradictions, errors, and just plain terrible stories that it takes a real depth of self-delusion to continue to buy into it.
