Well I live in MN, and they have a place called Once upon a child. Iam not sure if thats a national chain or just MN, but ebay for sure is a good place, and Nordstoms Rack can have amazing deals on new clothes! My sister just had a baby to! I went to Sears and they were having a buy one onsie and get one free. Rockin deal. Happy Shopping! (it gets addicting to buy new clothes for you neice/nephew!)

Yard Sales
I have 3 girls and I have gotten so much baby stuff for my youngest daughter at yard sales.
Consignment Shops
Most second hand stores take clothes that are gently used and have a fair price on them. Once your child has outgrown the outfit, you can consign it for youself and get your money back .
Thrift stores
Big Lots, Wal-mart, and some of the Dollar General stores carry really cute clothes for children. I have seen at some of these places you may have to buy a larger size to ensure a fit(DG Store)
Free Cycle/ Cheap Cycle
There are yahoo groups that are located in your area that post people giving away and selling things in your area that they don't need or want.

For those of you who said Target, they have cute clothes but they are not always cheap. Walmart has pretty reasonable prices. Also Stein Mart usually has good sales too. You can also find nice clothes at dollar stores now too! Oh yeah sometimes JC Penneys has great sales too!

platos closet this shop sells like hollister abercrombie AE victoria secret aero and all that stufff. even if it truly is gently used clothing. they purchase it from those that promote it even if the emblem must be call style. the garments must be from this 12 months or the 12 months earlier. they could tell via the tag on the back of the shirts each and every 12 months tags change. it truly is realllllly cool. trust me. they promote it genuine cheep

Wal-Mart ( a lot of people hate Wal-mart but the prices are good and the stuff is nice) My kids dress from Wal-Mart and they always get compliments on how cute they look.
Or if you want to shop online, Amazon.com or e-bay

A lot of the clothes in thrift shops are like brand new...babys grow out of them so fast that they really dont have time to get old.
also if you know of anyone who has a child a bit older than the baby you are buying for. ask them if they have any hand me downs. i know i was all but too happy to get rid of my girls old clothes...they take up lots of space.

Try to go garage sale... they usually have tons of baby clothing and stuffs for $1 or less.
Other than that, you can try goodwill or classifieds on your local newspaper. Usually there are announcements on baby clothes on sale by individuals.

eBay, flea markets, consignment shops, swap meets.

There are many places. If you're looking for brand new, you can look at WalMart which has cute clotes. Even K-Mart has cute stuff for a tight budget.

Good Luck!
