Yes i think it is normal because hot stuff going down the throat usually will pull up any phlegm you may have. That is how it will help your singing voice. No more phlegm clogging your throat. Now your singing voice is more clearer. What you think?

The phlegm could be from the honey. Do you put a lot in? Try drinking tea without honey for a few days and see if the phlegm goes away. :)

You should be drinking just plain tea, the honey is whats causing the phlegm because it coats your throat and esophagus, its just as bad as drinking soda or milk right be for you sing. Regular tea should be just fine, you could probably add lemon, but don't add anything like sugar or honey.

Lower the amount of honey you're putting in the tea. Too much will make it like syrup in sodas and clog you up. I like putting ginger with my tea and some lemon. Keeps me from getting phlegmed up. If that doesn't help just drink warm water. :) (I sing too!) :)

Yes Honey is common for loosening up congestion in the head and chest.. try just drinking straight hot tea or put some lemon in it.. marmalade will work just like honey with the taste if you like that honey taste and not give you that problem

My sister's son, an amazing singer, swears by ginger to help his singing voice. You could add it to your tea, maybe. I'm not a singer but I personally like tea, ginger, honey and lemon together.

its normal, but my singing director said that out of everything, drinking water is best for your voice, so nothing will coat your throat and your voice will be clearer =]
