How can I remove a directory with a question mark in the file name? There are quite a few that were made by viruses/spyware. I cannot browse to them in Explorer, but I can get to them through the command prompt...although I cannot delete them. I try rd [dir name], but it says the syntax is incorrect.

I tried renaming...get same error about syntax. I am in the command prompt DOS-type-thing in WinXP.

Try renaming the files without the ?. then del them

I am assuming you tried renaming them thru DOS?
