First of all, humans do NOT need meat! A large proportion of families in India have been vegtarian for centuries, and they are doing just fine. I have not eaten meat since 1979, and I cannot imagine every doing so again. And I'm still above ground and doing fine.
Ethnic foods from India, Thailand, and Italy are good starters. Or use "burgers" from Bocca or Morningstar Farms (I love their Spicy Black Bean Burgers!). A simple dish of mixed vegetables (whatever is in the fridge) and tofu or cheese is easy and quick.
As long as you eat dairy and/or eggs you will not need to worry about B12 or protein. If you become vegan, you will need to find a vegetable source of B12 or use a supplement. You can get all the protein you need from beans, rice, tofu, soy milk (Silk is a good brand) etc - most people in developed countries eat much more protein than they need!
Eating out can be hard. I eat a lot of omelets when I travel and try to find Indian, Thai, or Italian restaurants. (Chinese restaurants tend to put chicken broth in everything, even dishes in the "vegetables" section, so I avoid those.)
Vegetarian is not necessarily low calorie - chocolate bars are vegetarian! Choose lots of fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables.
Can you stop? Yes, people do, mostly for social reasons - they fall in love with a meat eater. But you'll feel so much better without meat in your diet that I doubt you'll want to.
Take a look at http://www.vegetariantimes.com/section_display.cfm?section_id=74
Good luck.

It's not a bad idea to become one but you still have to watch what you eat obviously. Alot of different junk foods can be considered vegetarian but it does not make them healthy.
Here are some of the things I eat as a vegetarian:
Soya products
Quorn products
Whole wheat pasta and breads
Veggies
fruits
Think of all the things you can do with pasta and veggies! I suggest getting a book about starting out. If you are a teenager, there is a great book called vegetables rock!

Becoming a vegetarian is an big life style change. One thing to remember, is your body (especially brain) needs the protein's that are found in beef and meats. While the meals some vegetarians cook are tasty, it over all really isn't the best diet to be on.

Do you like to cook? Then you could start by experimenting with vegetarian dishes--that way you are totally involved in the process. Some meatless stuff is delicious!
If you start to be a vegetarian and hate it, you can stop any time! You don't get your money back, but there's no penalty at all.
Good luck!

Don't do it. Your body was designed by nature to eat meat. If you go vegan, you will lose out on essential amino acids. It is VERY difficult to combine vegetable proteins to provide these in your diet. You will end up depleting muscle, which will in the long run make you FATTER. Meat provides all the essential amino acids (via protein) that a vegan diet cannot. Vegetarian diets are not sensible, and can be dangerous.
Love, Jack.

It's not difficult to live vegetarian. I used to live like that for years. Just beware that you get enough vitamine b12. Eat enough soyaproducts like tofu, tempe, things like that.
I didn't have a problem when I started to eat meat again, neither did my boyfriend after 11 years of being vegetarian. But some people do have to get used to it again.
