Its easy... :)

-Flour
-buttermilk
-any seasoning that you need (I just use salt and pepper)
You need a deep frying pan and any kind of oil that you want to use. I use vegetable oil.

Dunk the chicken in the buttermilk... then in the flour mixture... then back into the buttermilk again and then back into the flour (lol are you getting all this!)

Then place in the hot oil you want it to be about 350 degrees so the chicken will cook through... turn until golden brown and cut in to the chicken to make sure it is done.

yum

All those recipes provided are good. For the best results, commercial fried chicken restaurants like Kentucky`s use a pressure cooker to deep-fry the chicken. This approach uses a lot more oil than home frying, but can be dangerous (danger of extremely hot oil burns if spilled accidentally). And then unless you do a lot of deep-frying, there is the issue of what to do with the left-over frying oil. If you do use a pressure fryer, make sure there is a sieved container to hold the chicken in the fryer to remove the chicken from the hot oil safely and rapidly after frying. Otherwise the chicken will absorb the oil if not removed after frying.

You will need:

Chicken pieces, with or w/o bones, whatever you prefer. Three separate shallow dishes containing flour, egg, and something to make the chicken crisp. I like to use potato flakes, but some people like crushed cornflakes, or bread crumbs, or something like that. You will also need either a large, heavy bottom skillet or something like a Fry Daddy.

For the skillet, you will need enough oil ( I like Canola) to fill a little less that half, but follow the instructions for the electric fryer. Remember that the chicken will displace the oil, so if you fill the pan too full you will have a real mess, not to mention a dangerous situation!

Heat the oil in the skillet to about medium high...you don't want to burn it! Wet the chicken pieces just a little then dip them assembly-line fashion in the flour, then egg, then crunch, in that order, (if you want to add salt and pepper or any other seasoning, add it to the crunch) making sure to coat very well. Then place CAREFULLY in hot oil. Use tongs to turn chicken when it is brown. Place on paper towel covered platter to drain.

Soak your chicken in salted cold water. That cleans any unclean residue from you chicken. Put frying pan on the stove, fill with vegetable oil and turn the heat on medium. In a large bowl put two cups of flour, a tablespoon of garlic salt, tablespoon of pepper, a tablespoon of paprika, and a tablespoon of chili powder. Mix together well. Take chicken out of water and drain. Place mixture in a glad bag (gallon size). Put two to three pieces of chicken at a time in the mixture and shake well. Shake off extra flour in bag and place chicken in frying pan. Cook fifteen minutes on each side or until golden brown on each side. Enjoy!

You need to use vegetable oil, not olive oil. Get that going on the stove. You need to deep dishes, one for the egg wash, the other for the flour. Okay for the egg wash, add milk and tabasco sauce, really, it doesn't get too hot, it just gives an interesting taste. Spice the flour you can get creative, but for sure use chili powder, no salt or cumin though. Dip the chicken in the egg wash, then the flour OR flour, then egg, then flour, try both see what works for you. Fry up, allow to drain oil on paper towels.

season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and old bay, soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk at least 4 hours or overnight if possible ( if you want it spicy, add hot sauce to the buttermilk)

add the same seasonings to some flour in a plastic bag or bowl

remove the chicken pieces from buttermilk and dredge in seasoned flour, shake off excess, at put into hot oil and fry until golden brown turning once. remove and drain on paper towels. enjoy.

the simplest way:

egg, milk, flour, salt

mix a couple of eggs and a splash of milk (depending on how much chicken you are making.
dip chicken in mixture
then dip it in flour
fry and salt

If you like it crispy though. (add crushed cornflakes)
Mix flour and salt, coat chicken and let sit in mixture for about 15 min.
Then move it to the egg and milk mixture, coat and let set about 10 min.
Then put it in flour, salt, and crushed cornflakes. Coat well and fry immediately.
