The evidence right now is cloudy, even with his confession. Too many people confess and are not guilty but just a little crazy. Do understand that.
1. The first consideration is that we want him never ever to be able to repeat what he did. There is evidence, I understand, that he has done similar things and has been doing similar things before and during the ten years since. He was living in a motel in Thailand where you rent by the hour and rent children as prostitutes. With that in mind if he truly is guilty, isolation and possible castration. If we can figure out why he did what he did, perhaps we can prevent it in others.
BTW, can we stop with the sexualizing our preteen children? I mean 6 year old beauty pageants. Please! I am not blaming the victim. I just think the parents were really creepy.
2. I am a Deist/Gnostic. I have had two direct experiences with The Light. I do not feel like I need or want anyone else putting themselves between me and The Ineffable.

normally I would not suggest cruel and unusual punishment but in this case...
I would suggest he be tied spread eagle atop a fire ant hill
so they can bite him till he dies.
that was the fantasy one of my Incest survivor support group friends had and if one child sex abuse victim wished that kind of punishment for the man who raped her then probably others have had equally violent revenge fantasy's.
. . . . . . . . . . . .
actually now after writing this I almost want to delete it.
My sanity is returning and I would prefer to just say that I am relieved to know that Jon Benets mother knew about this before she died.
I am living with Ovarian cancer and am in"managed disease state" not remission, coming up on my 5 yr aniv of the DX and very very happy to be alive and well.
when I first heard of this yesterday my first thought was Too Bad her Mom died 2 months ago. I'm sure she must be looking down on us finally vindicated that it was NOT them.
to lose your prescious child the way she did and to be treated by the police like they did it was a horrible injustice and it probably is the reason it took so long to solve....
I am tempted to ask about another unsolved murder and ask when the police will solve it but that is not your question so I will sign off now.
you ask better Qs than most and I want to check out your other Q&As
Its a better search than the riff raff main page.

1) Seeing as how he has put the family through so much pain for the past 10 YEARS. And pasty died not knowing who killed her only daughter at such a young age. And he has already lived whit it for this long and it has taken him 10 YEARS for it to even bother him enough to confess it is rather hard to determine what would be a suitable punishment for this sick person. But seeing as how he has lived with it for so long i believe the only reason he did turn him slef in is because he knew that the police or detectives would never find out who done it and he wanted to show how stupid our police forces really are. The only answer to your question is, What Would Jesus DO? And I know that I probably would not feel that way if it was my child but then I really wouldn't know unless it happened to me one good thing is that JonBenet is with God and has been in his arms for Ten years.
2) Christainity

i did not recognize that they stuck the guy that did it, yet I continually theory that there became overwhelming evidence that it became not her father and mom. It appeared as if the police had to have the case over, and the father and mom appeared solid, so they went with it. i do not imagine that the police are continually incorrect, I only imagine that this situation became critically mismanaged because it became user-friendly to seem at how she became raised and picture that the father and mom were responsible shall we face it they were a touch nuts, yet I by no ability theory that they killed their daughter. i'm satisfied that the guy who did it truly is stuck now, and that i'm hoping that he has a real solid time in reformatory for the finished 2 days he will be there (I say 2 days because i'm hoping someone in there receives him interior that element period)

1.) God will punish him, in His own time, and in His own way. Of course, Man will dole out their punishment...who knows? Life in prison or death, possibly? I personally think he should just be confined without possibility of parole. Is it our place as humans, to take the life of another to justfiy his crimes? I don't beleive in the death penalty. We are not God.
2.) I claim no religion. I do beleive in God and in Christ, though.

1 week in a regular, high-security prison ought to be enough, in the general crowd, no solitary confinement.
