Doesn't it sometimes make you mad that...??

Question

There are adult, career-oriented couples out there who really want children, and they can't have any because of some health problem that they can't help; and then there are healthy, fast in the behind teenagers either popping babies out like pee, or killing them by abortion? It really irks me how these teens think that babies are toys, and how irresponsible they are. If you are too stupid to keep your legs closed, then birth control and condoms are FREE at the clinic! And if you do get pregnant, why not give it up for adoption instead of killing it, knowing there are people out there who want children?

What are your thoughts on the matter?

First of all, I know people who were teens when they had their children, and they did a good job raising them. I was referring to the ones who just get pregant so easily without putting forth an effort not to, but instead, they get an abortion like it's nothing to them.

AMEN! And Im not religious, lol. It really makes me angry that we have so many ways to avoid getting pregnant in the first place, but they would rather either give them up, kill them, or use them as a decorative meal ticket. They are "grown-up" enough to let a man crawl them, but not enough to take care of and love the child that their actions gave birth to. They seem to think that babies are just an inconvenient set back, and that its the childs fault that they acted irresponsibly and so the child should have to pay for their actions. Thank whoever for the few parents who cant have children, or even who already do, and who adopt those children whos parents didnt care enough about to try for, or whatever the excuse may be. I can hardly bear to watch the news now, because of what people do to their babies. There is a nationwide no questions asked policy where you can drop a baby off at any government building or hospital and leave. Why would you kill them? What in the hell did the baby do? I will never understand. I have a baby of my own and I am grateful everyday for the amazing opportunity to be there for her. I dont know what is wrong with people, but how hard is it to take a pill or wear a condom? Not to say all teenagers are that way...but so many are.

I agree totally. It is not only teens though. Some "mature" adults do the same things. I was 18 when I got pregnant with my oldest son. He now has a little brother and a little sister. I would not change a thing. I was still in high school when I got pregnant, but I was ready for kids. I have never once wished things were different. It is hard to have a baby at a young age because you don't get to do what your friends are doing or whatever. A lot of times the idea of having a baby appeals to people but then they find they can't handle it. If peopole would just wait until they are ready it would be much better. Sorry to ramble on but I know how you feel and once I get on the subject it is hard to stop.

As a 23 year old who:

A) Has a 2 year old son

B) Has had an abortion

C) Has a friend who has given up a child for adoption

I think I may be able to provide some insight here.

Teenagers learn via mistake. They rarely take the advice of others and experience many things on their own. If someone told you not to go white water rafting because it was dangerous, but it was still something you really wanted to do... would you do it? OF COURSE YOU WOULD. Everyone goes white water rafting.. just like everyone has sex. If it's SO dangerous, then why do people do it all the time?

So now you bring in the options of condoms and birth control. Sure, they are available but spontanieity tends to be the way sex happens, it generally isn't something that is planned and thought out. This, of course, doesnt' go for all situations.. but most as far as I have seen.

I don't think that teenagers perceive babies as toys. I do believe that teenagers who have unprotected sex and end up becoming pregnant are irresponsible, but what teenager isn't? This is just on a different level. You have to understand and experience irresponsibility before you can learn responisbility.

Could you imagine being 15 years old, pregnant in high school? .. If you have children, you will understand everything that comes with pregnancy. It is much more fathomable to have an early abortion - if you are comfortable doing so. It is legal. It is safe. And depending on your religious beliefs, it harms no souls.

Take it easy when passing judgement on other people's decisions. Good people tend to have to make difficult choices. Who are you to say what's best for them?

i agree with you 110% abortion is murder in my eyes and there are so many people who would adopt those babies i think teens arent informed enough about the options they have are they are scared to use the options they have because what will their friends think ya know i had my first daughter at 20 and would never thought of being without her i think teens should know that there are safe places you can take a baby that you dont want like the hospital or a fire station or even a church the people there will make sure that the baby is taken care of and the right thing is done

I think it is a shame that their are people out there who can't have babies who want them, but others who can have babies still have the choice whether to terminate the pregnancy or not... I hate the fact that i never want to have kids, but every time I have sex I have to go through all the precautions to make sure I don't get pregnant. I would gladly trade with any one of those woman that want a baby and can't.

You have to look at it at both ends, not just the front.

Babies validate the existence of people who are lacking something in life, or are ignorant.

Have a child because you want to enjoy a new life. Or, adopt one. If love is truly in your heart, they are one and the same.

i feel insulted! i had my children at a young age (15 and 17) however, I have NEVER given up on them and I NEVER once thought about an abortion and I NEVER EVER thought of them as toys!! I am now a loving mother, student in college involved in many child relation programs, and in love with my life! I do not appreciate how your question include all teenagers (i know that there are a lot like that) but some are not like that!

I think that the couples you are speaking of are few and far between, that orphanages are overcrowed already, that the last thing a teenager that's made a mistake needs to hear is that "you should have used a condom" because really that doesn't do her any good now does it, and that you need to get off of your high horse.

your are right. that is very irresponisble. i read, i have studied biology for a while. a life is very difficult to create. it is not just having sex, then the woman gets pregnant. it is more complicated than that, so much so that some try and try and can't make kids. yet some people take it away so easily.

i hate abortion. if they know they are not ready to be a parent, then they should use a condom! or better yet, control your hormones and abstain. the safest way.

as for rapists, all girls should learn martial arts from early, and be taught what is inappropiate.

I completely agree wit you i just had a baby was told i couldnt have one and its the best thing that ever happened to me i dnt see how anyone could get an abortion... you should give it up for adoption, that babys a person not an object young girls should learn that or not be havin sex.. if your mature enough to be havin sex then you need to be mature enough to take care of the consequences.... thats my point of view...
