is this good for taking out the lactic acid of the leg's muscles and preventing cramps?

Lactic acid is removed by blood flow.Elevating your feet would be counter productive. The main purpose would be to stretch which may improve blood flow later but this would be best done while not elevating your legs.Lactic acid is virtually all removed from the muscles in a short time.Alot of lactic acid released into your blood stream may have a positive impact on growth hormone secretion.
Lactic acid is not responsible for muscle soreness as many believe.DOMS or delayed onset muscle soreness is cause by micro trauma and won't go away until the fibers mend. The lactic acid is gone much sooner.

First 2 answers are good ones. After running, I found it to be a pleasant temporary feeling in the legs. Made them feel light-weight. Frankly, I think walking is the better way to move the lactic acid.

This stretches the hamstring, the long muscle in the back of the legs! Good idea to do it before and after exercise.
