No, I don't think she has developmental problems. We think she is very smart, and comprehends extremely well. We are first time parents and count our blessings everyday that she is health and happy. However, almost everyone that interacts with her says she is above average. We are just curious, we are not going to make a lab rat out of her.....Thanks for your kind responses and helpful input and no thanks to other's extreme insults. If you don't have anything nice to say....DON'T SAY ANYTHING. Maybe your mom forgot to teach manners.....

YES

It is called the Bayley Scales of Infant Developmet. It is a carefully developed measure of infant development from 2 months to 2.5 years. If you are concerned about your 14 month old, consult a child psychologist for an assessment. Testing for a 14 month old is not always necessary.

If you are just wanting to know the IQ of the 14 month old, the bayley does provide a score, but its not really an IQ score. Your child may be a genius at 14 months, but in a year or 2 or 3 may be more in the average range.

Why are you concerned? Your pediatrician has some tests that will give indications if there are problems like developmental delays.

Otherwise, look for a place in your area, usually run by County or State, called Special Children's Clinic or call the local education admin center and ask them for a referral.

At 14 months not every kid is progressing at the same level. Maybe you need to relax and let your child progress at his/her own speed.

I think you're more in need of an IQ test if you're inquiring about getting a 14 month one , Maybe you should let them learn to speak a language before venturing out having their IQ tested , That's one Idiotic Question

Sure! You can't find it in the August issue of Paranoid Parents magazine in the article entitled, "What Useless Thing Can You Freak Out About Today?"

I answered this question earlier, and now it is gone, I hope I didn't say something that offended anyone? Anyway, yes, you can find sites that have a scale of how children on the average and above average learn

I'm with Imani on this. If you think your baby has developmental problems, you need to talk to your pediatrician. Otherwise, leave the poor baby alone. 14 months for $*@! sake.

If there was I would still recommend you leave the poor baby alone. What is it with parents? Can't you just let your kids be kids??
