It looks like you have a good start. You can do about 30-40 situps and crunches to about a 100 per day (gradually increase exercises not at once). As long as you eat healthful food and exercise (squats, lunges, etc.). I noticed that running too much can overstrain you, and the best amount of time you should run is 15 minutes each day. Jump roping is a really good exercise, also. The answerer right above me, "I luv gymnastics" has good advice. You can find exercises for gymnasts on the Internet, which will keep you in shape. When you eat, try not to eat so that your stomach is SO full, leave space in your stomach so that you'll feel a little (!) bit empty. Try to avoid sweets as much as you can and don't eat after 8:00 p.m. You should see results in a month. Good luck!

Just doing situps, even 100 a day, isn't the fastest way to get a six pack. Well... you'll get a six pack, but without the cardio vascular exercise it will be a long time before it shows through the flab.
Make sure you are also on a balanced diet.
There's different kinds of situps too, there's crunches, power situps and .. er.. don't really know the terminology but go to your library and get an appropriate text book. Or get a magazine like men's health. Feel free to ignore the propaganda that tells you you have to buy expensive equipment and expensive foods and supplements. People have been getting sixpacks before these were all invented.

Situps are not really a good way to flatten the stomach as any trainer will tell you.
Try doing crunches instead and make sure that you come up in a straight line only to the point where it begins to hurt.
Mornings are always best with between 4 and 7 pm falling into the second best.
Also do not do 100 try to sets of 10 or 20 to start. You will see a difference and feel it too, lol!

I'll do something even more stupid than your question, and answer it.
Erm... The way people get flat stomachs is not by doing 100 sit ups a day you misinformed fool. The amount of deluded idiots who think this is true is actually quite concerning.
'People' get flat stomachs by doing something called CARDIOVASCULAR exercise. Things like running, rowing and swimming. Heard of them before???
This burns the fat off. Most women have naturally flat stomachs, likewise, most men have a six pack. But the reason why you cant see it, is because its covered by a layer of fat.
Hence, the stomach muscle is very small, and it doesnt take many sit ups to get it "toned". But if you are overweight, do you SERIOUSLY think 100 sit ups a day is going to burn off the fat??? Dont make laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A thousand sit ups a day would probably burn off less calories than an hours brisk walk......
Do you seriously think getting a flat stomach is as easy as 100 sit ups a day? Thats retarded!! There is no easy way of getting a slender, toned body - it takes commitment, focus and very REGULAR gym sessions.
So basically my ill-educated friend, sit-ups will help tone your stomach muscles, but cardiovascular exercise will burn the fat away from your stomach to reveal the "flat" muscle. Not only that, but most cardiovascular exercises (like rowing) will to an extent tone your stomach anyway, so i would say sit up's arent that massively important when trying to get a "flat" stomach.
So if you have more than 15% body fat, the chances are you wont have a flat stomach. Anything less than that (keep it around 10-12%) and you will have a flat stomach.
Since you already sound ridiculously misinformed, let me tell you that burning off that last layer of fat takes some SERIOUS work, and it really is not as easy as it sounds, especially if you have a naturally SLOW metabolism. You have to be very committed and focused and if you have any intentions of eating fatty, disgusting and pointless food you can forget about it...
And dont expect results in the first YEAR if you ARE overweight for your height.
If you are not overwieght, and are a normal weight for your height, expect result within 6 months, assuming you stay fully committed and go to the gym at least 3 times a week for a recommended maximum work out session of 1.5 hours (so a min of 4.5 hours per week). Oh, and stay away from crap food like chocolate, pizza, crisps, burgers, chips, etc.
I hope this helps.

Hey.
You can do as many sit ups as you like, and all you will do is tone up the underlying musculature of the abdominal area. YOu don't say how your weight is, and if there is no fat there you will have a six-pack in a few months. You cna speed up the building of abdominal muscle by either using an inverted bench or adding some weight to your sit-up (be careful if you are new to this sort of thing. Don't do more than you are capable of). You will get more benefit from doing fewer repetitions with more load than by doing 100 reps with little or no load.
If you have a little excess weight, you need to lose it the old fashioned way, by a balanced diet and lots of hard work. Exercises such as walking, running, swimming, cycling are what you need. Combine this with weight training to improve body composition. Unfortunately, you cannot spot-reduce fat. You will lose the same percentage from your whole body. Sorry!

it depends on how fat you are to begin with obviously . the more there is to trim away the longer it wll take.other factors are your age and overall heath, as well as your diet. The older you get , you lose some muscle tone , which means it isnt as easy. If your still eating wrong your wasting your time. That said lets assume your not obese just a little flabby but youve changed your diet and eating in moderation you should start to see and feel results in a matter of 3- 6weeks. The key is proper diet and sticking with it . Also you may want to incorporate other abdominal exercises as well as some cardio like jobbing, walking ,tred mill, stationary bike ect to speed up and maximize the results.if you want a six pack , youl need to incorporate incline situps crunches and other variations that work the obliques .Also if you find 100 is getting easier you might increse the number of reps. good luck

Stomach crunches don't really burn calories. The will tone the muscle underneath but you will still have a beer belly. As some of the other guys said, you need a better diet, cardio exercise and some crunches to tone when you've lost the lard

about six months to see results but you have to do some sort of cardio. you should do it at the same time everyday and it doesnt matter the time, just dont eat past 7pm and stick to a low calorie diet and eat only 20 fat grams a day for two weeks and you'll see a change in two weeks... The special K diet works!

abs classes at a local gym are the best way to lose the stomach... they often involve a number of different "core" exercises that help to tone your stomach and build core strength...
They are also supervised so you can ensure you are doing the exercises properly and not doing yourself any harm...
Its also reccomended to eat a balanced diet and avoid saturated fats....

sit up's will only give you a flat tummy if you've got no fat there in the first place. there's no point doing sit ups if you've got a belly on you because they wont show for the fat. if you're not fat and you just need toning it'll take about 3 weeks to notice a difference but otherwise you'll need to diet as well as do sit ups.
