Yes there are a considerable amount of men that say this to "get into a womans pants" but this comes with inherant problems for men that use this card. They are left with an emotionally open partner. Needing more attention and time, long after he has had sex with her. For the guys that wanted nothing more than a simple one night stand this becomes cumbersome and he's constantly struggling as he leaves behind woman that are confused and broken. All of it comes back in the end.
But for the men that genuinely say the "three words", He's letting the woman know that he's willing to take the relationship to the next level. So go figure.

I believe MOST people in today's society, whether male OR female, have a misconception of the phrase, or even the word 'love' alone. Too much of it has been thrown around on television and music. I have said it in the PAST when I too didnt fully understand it, but never "just to say it." However, now and for years, I have only said it when it was true.

thanks for asking that! i've been wondering the same thing especially with my guy. I guess it depends on the guy. some say it to get whatever (aka: the empty promise) and others (especially ones who actually wait) might mean it. sometimes actions do speak louder than words.

It is good to say but actions speak louder than words. Guys will say anything to get in your fants. And the 3 words work like flowers on a snowy day.

It's not that we don't mean it, but we brush it off because girls are insecure to the point where they need to hear it all the time, and that really bugs us guys. If we've said it once today, how is it anymore effective to say it again 5 hours later? It's all about efficiency (guys are time savers).

I don't know how old you are right now, but experience will teach you that "I Love You" can be a pretty empty statement from a lot of guys looking for sex rather than love.

Some men say: I love you,Te amo, Mahal kita, Te amo, etc.in different languages and they mean it.They say I love you and that is true.Others man are lie rs.They say I love you, but that only mean that the person is good in bed, or in some behaviour, but they never feel really love for that person. For me, when I say I love you, that is true in the all meaning. That mean I love the lady and I am fall in love with her.

Not a guy, but I'm just putting in my two cents worth...I think there are times when guys just say it, because they know that's what the woman wants to hear...
