Do the "performers" in these videos ever get tested for STDs? It seems like they're going at it with wreckless abandon, with a blatant disregard for their health and well-being. I'm fairly certain that the "pros" get tested, but what about these amateurs? Do they ever get tested, or are they just doing it for kicks?

I think some get tested and some don't,I don't look at those movies but I saw a show on them and how they are done.The one's in the big budget movies do get tested it's mandatory,and the low budget one's it's not required but everyone said they do go and get tested just to be on the safe side.Personally I don't believe they all get tested,I think some of them is just in it for the money,for whatever reason sleeping with someone seems to be more reasonable than getting a 9 to 5.

Hard to say. The law states that adult performers must pass an STD screening and that screening information must be stored with their legal ID (proof of age) and other information with the production companies Custodian of Records.
As there are more sites than law enforcement officers, I would guess that a large number of sites go unchallenged, and the performers might be at risk.

Amateurs are just there for fun, they are not professionals, they haven't been used as a "taxi" so I dont think they needed to be tested for STDs and stuff like that. But as far as pornstars are concerned, they are professionals, they just play in front of camera, most of them are using all the precautionary measures, because its their daily "business", so they better know how to tacle it, and being professionals I dont think anyone would like them to check for STDs.

The pros get tested. The line between amatuer and pro often gets blurred. If they do it allot, I am sure they get tested. If it is a one time thing for fun or do a few to make some money, I doubt it.

I think the good companies test their performers, and either the female uses birth control, or they use condoms to prevent pregnancy. I dont know about the amateurs. If they are stupid enough to do that, then that's their problem.

If you read the disclaimer on every "serious" porn site, there is everything in there. Its long and boring, but its there. If there is no mention of it...probably they are not.
The porn industry is (or it should be) a serious industry. Most of the actors are professionals, some are just amateurs, but who stays behind the camera so to speak and is seruious about his business always care about security.

The professional Porn Stars who work for big Corporations require in written contract that their partner undergo a Test before the scene. The amateurs who do backyard porn, I don't know.

I've heard that you HAVE to get tested before every movie...as for amateur videos, MOST OF THE TIME (im not saying in all circumstances though) they are just making videos with their husband or boyfriend...

i recently watched a doc on amatuers and even they get tested and carry the proof they are clean
the amateur is becoming the new pro it seems as these are becoming more popular among people that watch it
while the people taking part are amatuer the people making them are still pro's
