this is great question...30 minutes seems to be the magic number for me, but it's different for everyone. just don't exercise before you eat anything, or you could get light-headed and dizzy...and anyway you'll pig out afterwords cause you'll be starving!

I believe it depends on what exercise you're doing. If I'm hiking or bicycling, I could eat 2 or 3 Cliff Bars a few minutes before I go with no digestive problems.
What I've learned in my human anatomy and physiology class is that the digestive system needs lots of blood to do it job, but so do the muscles when working out. My instructor said it's not good to eat just before or during a workout. It's my experience is that I could eat just before or during a workout/hike/bike ride without any problems.
It's up to you whether you would eat just before or during a workout. What works for me or anyone else might be different for you.
I hope this helps.

It depends on what and how much you eat. You want to wait long enough so that you do not get sick, but you dont want to wait too long either. If you wait too long you will not be able to use the food that you ate as "fuel."

I've been told to wait about 30 minutes, so that the food actually starts to go through your body, and you can use that energy.
It works for me, but don't take my word for it.

My doctor always told me to exercise before you eat - that way you are losing fat already accumulated and that's the hardest to lose!@

atleast two and half hours, because this is the time the food takes to pass out from stomach, provided it is not too heavy.

Half hr to 45mins is probably best. It can also vary shorter or longer. You'll know once you get started.
