if u have purchased the game then try to reinstall it. ur game will not run without dll files. check the compatibility of the system and software

Click start button>search
Type d3d8.dll, then search it in your cd rom drive.
Then Copy that file to your game directory.
If you cant find it in your CD rom use google to search it via internet.

u can install direct X9c..or get dll file from dll.com and download paticular dll file

Reinstall DirectX

DirectX missing or corrupted.
Install DirectX9.0c AND reinstall your video drivers as well.
After installing DirectX 9.0c please click START,then RUN,then type DXDIAG and then press ENTER.This will open a very intuitive window with couple of tabs,one of them shows DirectX diagnostics.Run all the diagnostics,and if everything is fine it should say "All directx tests ok" or similar.

Try reinstalling the game .. and make sure the latest version of direct x, current is direct x 9.0c

you maybe need to install DirectX.
at least version 8 but try to install Version 9
