My sinuses and ears hurt. This prescription Vikadin is cutting the pain, a little. I feel like I want to barf, but I don’t know if it is my inner ear, or the Vikadin. I'm going nuts this morning! I can't eat! I can't think! Is it the pain or the dumb drug that is driving me nuts? I’m getting a CT scan this afternoon, and then they might find out why I am in such pain.

For now, what can I do keep my mind off the pain? I can’t meditate at work. I suppose I could just put my headphones on and crank up Phil Collins??

What do you do? I just need somthing to control the pain for a few hours until the doc can do somthing!

Pain is a b*tch, isn't it? I would say you might try visualization. Think of some things that you would love to be doing right now and really get into "daydreaming" the experience. I think the music will help also. When I feel like that I play music and sing and it really does something to my soul. The Vicadin...that might be making you nauseated. You might want to ask your doc for something less potent. Caffiene will help pain also. God Bless.

Obviously, contacting a physician, is a great idea, if you ever have any questions. The Vicodin, is most likely making, you feel 'worse'. But, it is used for moderate to sever pain. It sounds like you have an acute inner-ear infection, which in itself, can cause nausea, dizziness, and some moderate to severe discomfort. I believe the CT scan, will be able to rule out certain 'things', and hopefully, help in your diagnosis. No, you can't 'meditate' at work, but, during 'breaks', and can try to 'zone' out, or just relax, which might help. As far as "Phil Collins"---I'd try Ozzy Ozbourne...or Disturbed (*preferably, Get Down With the Sickness)...cranked up, that should do the trick (*it does for me!)

P.S. The chewing gum, does seem to show, it's most likely, to be an inner-ear infection. The chewing relieves the pressure! Just don't overdo, it could cause your jaw to tighten up, and get tender.
