the ideal height should be whatever the norm is... which is 5'5 -5'6 for a woman, and 5'10 to 6' for a man.... but in reality... the ideal height should be whatever works for the people involved.... its not like people have control over their height anyway...lol.

For me, it's not about height. It's about the guy. I was a woman weightlifter so I don't mind muscles but if that's all he has, it's a waste of time and doesn't impress me at all. Heck. I was bulked up larger than some of the guys at the gym. I don't have an ideal height. I have dated all sizes. My last boyfriend was 6'2" and I am 4'11". I am secure in myself and I walk with my head up high and it never mattered. The smile, the conversation, the intelligence, the look in his eyes, the gentleness, the attention we both paid to each other and the fun we had and genuine caring is what is more important. He has to be a non-controlling man that lets me be me and also never would hit or hurt a woman. He has to be thoughtful as I am too and not have a foul mouth or make unwanted moves. He will know when a woman is interested. The only down side for me, is that I love to dance and dancing slow with a tall guy is a little awkward. So it's not a bad thing or it's her problem if she feels you are too tall. You just need to find a woman that is secure about herself. Okay? Many tall guys dated me and liked small and petite women.

Why does it matter?
Eventually these are going to change because the population will either get taller or shorter. In the colonial days, it was average for a woman to be 5' and men to be 5'5. Now it's average for women to be 5'5 and men to be 6'1. It doesn't matter.
Besides, aren't personalities more important?

I'm not picky, but for me the ideal hieght for a woman is a woman that's about a head shorter than me, meaning that it's possble for me to rest my chin on top their head without standing on my tip-toes (I'm 6' 0"). However there are plenty of gorgeous women that are 5' 11" and up.
