Go to the catholic church where you are and talk to the priest. There are classes that you will have to take that will explain all the church doctrine that people who were born to catholic families are taught from the time they are young children in ccd (catholic sunday school). I can't remember exactly how many weeks the classes last for. There will be people there who are catholic to help you with learning the things in the classes and you will get to pick a sponsor of someone you connect with that is catholic to help you with learning about the church. then after the classes are completed usually on easter sunday service you will be confirmed into the church. If you have never been baptized you will be baptized then. If you have been baptized in another christian faith then you won't be baptized you will only be confirmed that you believe what the catholic's believe which is basically the apostle's creed. I can't remember the whole apostle's creed something like "we believe in one God father the almighty, maker of heaven and earth of all that is seen and unseen...." you should be able to find it online if you just type in apostle's creed in your search engine. And then you will be allowed to participate in communion with the catholic church and that's it your a catholic.

The first step would be to contact your nearest Catholic parish, which you can find in the phone book or on the Yahoo Yellow Pages.
Yes, there are a series of classes called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It lasts at least several months, and culminates in baptism, which for adults in RCIA classes typically takes place just before Easter.
Again, contact your nearest Catholic parish. If the parish itself doesn't run an RCIA program, they'll put you in touch with a nearby parish that does.
God bless you.

An adult or a child who is not Catholic should contact their local Parish church and ask about RCIA if they are interested. You can learn about the faith without having to join. You make that decision later. I joined 23 years ago. In my opinion the best decision I ever made. Classes here started just a week ago. But you can usually start attending at any time before Advent.

Advice...don't convert to any "religion"... It's just man's attempt to reach God. Read the Bible...ask questions of others who do...pray...God wants to reach out to you and develope a personal realtionship for true peace and joy and understanding and salvation of your soul and spirit. Most organized religions dictate to you and get in the way of a personal relationship with God..."seek and you will find, ask and it will be given to you, knock and the door will be opened...". God doesn't want or need you to do "stuff" like get water baptized...just have faith and believe "as a child". He's our heavenly Father and he wants children...not converts.

you have to take classes, and get baptized, but Catholics dont do full immersion like some Protestant types. Just a sprinkling of water on the forehead is enough.

I know baptism, confession, communion & Catechism/RCIA classes are involved. I'm not completely sure though cause I was raised catholic from birth so I'd say go talk to a priest for full answers & about how to get started if you were interested.

Before you make that decision. Check out the bible and a few good lively local churches who are applying the bible to their everyday lives.

Convert to Christianity instead. Pray to Jesus as it states in the Bible and not to saints or the virgin Mary.
