Mohamed was pre-disposed to be elected to be the last prophet. Although they were exposed to Judaism and Christianity throughout their history, monotheism was an alien idea to the minds of Arabs in the pre-islamic era. They worshipped a multitude of gods. Before the oracle, Mohamed used to spend some time in a cave on a regular basis to meditate, apparently in search of Truth, having deemed the gods of his people false, a fig of their imagination.

I have read all the above.
Why is it so hard to get these radical Christians to even listen to any other beliefs? They don't have to accept them, but, they can listen and respect other people and their beliefs.
Larry S. is particularly strange. You say G-d became Jesus and was no longer G-d? I have never heard a Christian say that before. You must go to some unique church.
And, Allah and G-d are the same thing------different names, differnt languages.
There are many, many more names of G-d than what Larry S. mentions. It depends on what essence, or what attribute of G-d you are referring to.

The prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him), would not follow his tribe's decision to worship statues, or anything physical. He went to a near by cave to meditate, often, and ponder the idea of God. He did not like the idea of worshiping something physical, or not a "single" god. In his cave of meditation is where the angel Gabriel came to him and revealed the words of the holy Quran.
