Its the only way we'll ever get anything done. Governments of modern times are far too wet to ever get us anywhere. Additionally the ethos and efficiency of the armed forces (especially when it comes to bureacracy and admin) would make a welcome change from the enormous, sprawling, useless Civil Service that we have at the moment. Just look in the appointments section on a decent paper - they have people being paid a fortune to do a job that a typical military officer would absorb into all the other dozens of duties that he or she has.
I don't think it would ever happen, but I'm sure that the country would be a better place without it. We need someone with guts to run the country. Not someone whose idea of dealing with social menaces like mini-motos or whatever is to chuck one in a crusher on the news - Ban them! Its so simple! But they won't do anything to hurt the scumbags that vote for them...

Britain should be run by the soviet union so we can call it EURASIALANDOPOLISICA and we can put teeth in it and then make Austrailialand into a penile colony and Join North and South Africa so they are part of the same continent. then we will live in 1984!
