John baptized Jesus. John was a messenger. John heralded the arrival of Jesus, the son of God, who was also God's word made flesh, and was God in human form. This is why Jesus was the only human, that could rise from the dead. Jesus rising from the dead in 3 days as he said He would, was a symbol to Man that he too can have eternal life. This was what Jesus was saying all along, but man has clouded the message with religious doctrine.
Isaiah 44:6-I am the first and the last and beside me, there is no god.
This means that there are no small gods, or idols, or false prophets in heaven.
Some religions try to say that Jesus was just a prophet, or Jesus was the messenger, or Jesus was Michael the archangel, or Jesus was a small god in heaven. This is not what the bible says, unless the bible that they get this from, has been changed to fit those ideas.
The bible says in John 10:30, I and the father are one. Again, He is saying this.
In Acts 5.1-4: Thou hast not lied to men, but unto God.
Every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. Not a Lord, Lord.
Jesus is the son of God, merely because He was born. The most important thing to know is that Jesus is God. He is the one who John heralded the arrival of. THAT is why John the baptist is the greatest prophet until Jesus came. Jesus did speak on things to come, and by that He was a prophet also, but He was so much more than that. When Jesus' human body was killed, God's word had to return to God's body. Most religions misinterpret the symbolism of this act. Some will read this and say that I am speaking of a trinity. I am not. One can look forever and never find the words trinity or triune in the bible. It's a man made word used to explain these miracles. What's interesting is that a religion can use the word trinity, and believe Jesus is the true Son of God, and IS God, but exhault Mary, His mother used by the Lord, as being higher than Jesus, who is the most High, and worship idols. This makes no sense. That same religion will exhault a mere man and kiss his ring, and try to make him like Jesus as well.
The truth is there for all to see, but we must read for it ourselves.

He was Jesus cousin and he paved the way for Jesus to come by stating that the Kingdom of God has drawn near, When Jesus came to be baptize John knew this was the messiah because the holy spirit came down out of heaven and rested upon Jesus and a loud voice came out of heaven saying "this is my son whom I have approved.

John ought to have finished some miracles he's not written approximately plenty the recent testomony is Jesus concentrated and he overshadows John. In Islam it says that John dedicated no significant sins for the period of his existence, and he grow to be a strict prophet and he might tell human beings to provide up sinning real to their face, and it relatively is declared that he grow to be very dedicated to calling the individuals of Israel lower back to submitting to God's will. i've got self assurance yet i'm not sure there is hadith asserting that if John called for somebody to be punished for doing evil, God might enable it and placed across punishment.

John was the voice crying in the wilderness of the one who was coming after him. Remember when Mary, Yahshuas' mother came to her aunt Elizabeth (Johns' mother) she was already pregnant with John. John was born first, he was the pointer to Yahshua, he spoke of "the one who comes of whom i am not worthy to unlatch his sandals"
I will not answer your second question as discovering it for yourself would give you ten thousand times the reward if you discover it yourself. However i will give you a map; The Book of Enoch wold be a good place to start or The Dead Sea Scrolls. See, your question is not one of a theological or historical preponderance, rather your question is deeper things as to what is in heaven. Another way to look at that is; why was john considered "amongst men born to women, none is as great as he. . . " Comparing oranges to oranges and oranges to great big fat juicy sweet oranges if you get my drift.

The lowest angel is higher than anyone on earth. That is because they have already been prepared and entered heaven and cannot be corrupted. Here, we are surrounded and influenced by spiritual spheres from heaven and hell no matter how good we are.
