A prophet is a sign pointing to something? Why is John such a great sign, having done no miracles? What did John point to?

Why is the least person in the kingdom of heaven greater than John as Jesus claimed? Are they able to point even more clearly ot something important?

John baptized Jesus. John was a messenger. John heralded the arrival of Jesus, the son of God, who was also God's word made flesh, and was God in human form. This is why Jesus was the only human, that could rise from the dead. Jesus rising from the dead in 3 days as he said He would, was a symbol to Man that he too can have eternal life. This makes no sense. That same religion will exhault a mere man and kiss his ring, and try to make him like Jesus as well.
