The Shuttle is so old. What ever happened with space research? Too busy with war I suppose. Can we do some of that instead of war? It is good for war too I suppose if it comes to that. Can we build a new shuttle? I remember the whole disaster day.

PS is there a better place for this topic? Please tell me. Is there a space section?

Thank you. I knew about this station, but not the shuttle. I will look into the site. Why is this good stuff not on the news more?? I would rather hear about this than the run away bride or linseay lohan.

Yeah, but are weapons safe or good for the enviornment? I would rather have them learn about the earth and how to protect it.

There is plenty of space research going on. There is a space station, for example. There are also probes being sent to Mars and other planets.

Yes, the shuttle is old. Replacements for it are in the works. Check out NASA's Web site (www.nasa.gov). Don't forget that just a year ago or so, a prize was awarded to the first civilian craft to reach space. I think it was called Spaceship One and I know it is now in the Smithsonian's Air & Space Museum.

If you like space science, check out the Planetary Society. I think the Web site is www.planetary.org. It is an organization of citizens who want to improve our knowledge of the solar system. The late Carl Sagan, a famous astronomer, was one of its founders.

Didn't they already build a new shuttle? I could be wrong, but I could have sworn they did. Yeah, I say they should actually put money and time into research, not war.

this is the best place to put the question>>>Science & Mathematics >>>>Astronomy & Space

its not really cost effective is what they would say, plus the effect it has ton the enviroment, plus the safty reviews that it all has to go though, building a new design it would then have to be tested for about 10 years to make sure its safe etc.

i think we should be going back into space
