A 12 year old does not have the emotional capacity to understand dating, complex relationships, responsibility, etc. They also don't have the experience to understand consequences from improper or questionable behavior, and are just not mentally prepared to face what "dating" entails, nor to understand the social, emotional, mental and physical ramifications of dating.
Classically, the age of 12 is the most difficult period in a person's life because so many changes are taking place on so many different levels, that to throw dating into the mix would complicate things too much and bring much confusion into this young life.
No, 12 year old kids should not date at all.

Considering you spelled young "yuong", I'd say you're too young to date. You shouldn't start dating until you're 16 and you don't need mommy or daddy to drive you and your date to the movies or dinner. That's just lame.

Yes 12 is much too young to start dating. At 12 you need to be thinking about your education. When boys or girls come into the picture then studies suffer. You have your whole life ahead of you for dating. There are more important things now. And dating will lead to sex and you surely do not need that at such a young age.

Yes that is way to young to be dating.. my son is 12 and he's to young when my daughter hits that age she will be wayyy to young.. i don't think i would allow my kids to date untill they are at least 15 and i would prefer 16 however if your just talking about having a parent take you and stay during a movie or somthing i don't see any harm in that at any age

yeh! I didn't start dating till 14. Those 2 years makes a big difference. At 12, you can't be mature enough to go into a relationship. Even my relationship at 14 was a bit shy.

Yes!! a 12 year old still needs to focus on family and friends...not dating yet of the adult world. Don't grow up too fast, because you can never go back to the inocence of a child. Have fun being a kid!

Of course! Not that it's neccessarily to young to have little b/f and g/f, but dating is really reserved for those that can actually go out on dates, without having mom or dad drive you, and without having mom or dad pay. That's why 16 is the chosen age for teens to start dating.

No but you have to talk with your parents (mother or father ) about your plans for your date and the person you are dating if you want to avoid problems for at least 10 years of your life
