There's this Joan Armatrading song that reflects exactly women's state of mind. It goes: 'I'm not in love, but I'm open to persuasion.'
When a man flirts, he is hunting. He has chosen his target and is moving in for the kill. Women don't flirt for the same reason, nor does their flirting indicate a choice or a decision.
When a woman flirts, she is testing you. It doesn't mean she's after you. Most of the time she doesn't mean anything at all by it, just testing if she (still) 'has it', if she can turn a man's head. That is important for a woman to know even if she has no intention to hook up with a guy. But at the same time, women are always on the lookout for their 'prince in shining armour', someone who can swipe them off their feet and send the soaring to heaven.
So she'll check out your reaction, what you do, the way you laugh, if you're nervous and whether it's in a cute way, if your conversation is interesting, if you focus on her and not on yourself. If your hands are clean, no dark rims under your fingernails, if you smell nice, if you have manners, if you eat with knife and fork. If you're sad, if you're happy, if your eyes shine when you talk about your feelings.
There is nothing you can nor should do, but to ignore her flirting and be yourself. At some point in the interaction, there will be a decision, or there will be none and all ends as it began, innocently. If she is swayed, persuaded as in the song, you will know without a shadow of a doubt. She will let you know in no uncertain ways.

Girls flirt? Never. Its just their own insecurities surfacing. Guys shouldn't get worked up. People need to feel wanted, desired, or sexy. Many times thats all girls or guys want, is to know that their desireable. People shouldn't take flirting so seriously or literally. I've made that mistake and gotten my feelings hurt, but its no big deal. Everybody hurts......soooomtiiimes. :)

If you are like me, you play along with it until she says stop. Then you just walk away because you assumed from the start that it was just a game. Guys are generally cautious around girls who seem too friendly but they still wouldn't pass on a chance to go out with her.

Here is an idea switch the stakes. How about he does that to her and she had not a clue. How would she feel?
Flirting is a good thing and can be healthy as long as both parties understand what is going on.

It's happened to me several times I usually think about it for a day or two and forget about it so its harmless sometimes unless the guy's into you then he won't look at you the same way again
