My problem specifically, are the coordinates...How do you get them and what comes first?

the X axis and Y axis are used for representing 2 dimensional figures. for a simple example, consider a corner of your house where 3 walls meet. the corner line which goes up to the ceiling represents the Y axis while the horizontal line along your floor represents the X axis. X axis is mostly used to denote width while y for the relative hight! the x axis is usually considered as referrence axis with independent variables, while the y axis has dependent variable. for example, speed depends on time. so time is the independent variable denoted in X axis while variation of speed with respect to time is shown in Y axis.

The X axis is usually the horizontal one and the y axis is usually the vertical one. These are just conventions and they just denote different axis that intersect with each other. The use of x and y is just for naming and doesn't mean anything else.

x axis is the on that goes side to side so you use that first when plotting a coordinate so lik(9,8) you move 9 space to the right y axis is up and down so after moving 9 right you go 8 up on the y axis hope that helps :)

x axis is horizontal

y axis is vertical

when youre given a coordinate (3,5) that means the x number is 3 and the y number is 5. you find "3" on the x "line" and follow it upward until it meets with the y line, which is "5"

confusing stuff--- and somehow I made it past algebra 1!!

The X axis is the horizontal line the one going ----------------------.
The Y axis is the vertical line goes up and down.
A coordinate such as (2,1) has an X of 2 and a Y of 1 as it follows the form (x,y).
Hope that helps you understand.

The X-Axis is horizontal. The Y-Axis is vertical The coordinates are read leftto right, X,Y
SO you move either left or right a given number of places, then move up or down a given number ofplaces, and there is the location of your point.

x axis is usually the horizontal bottom part of a graph- and is the independent variable( like time, or something that increases at regular intervals). the y is typically vertical with the dependent variable- the one that varies depending on the x axis variable( amounts, speed, etc)best of luck! remember- x=independent, y=dependent, the y variables are influenced by the x!

The x-axis goes across the page. The y-axis goes up the page. Our teacher is amasing, try always drawing the x in red and the y in blue, that way you can colour co-ordinate the numbers.

x-axis runs horizontally, left to right, like the horizon.

y-axis runs vertically, up and down, like a ladder.

u might want to clarify ur question.
