You're first step is to find a flight instructor. check the local Airports in your area (pilots generally know all the other pilots in an area). The instructor can, depending on his or her ratings, teach you to fly most small aircraft. Once you'vr completed all the requirements, you can teke a test to get a private pilots liscense, than a commercial, and if your real ambitious, an Airline Transport Pilots certificate. But start small, get to the local airfield and find an instructor. And remember, flying aint cheap, just take it a few hours at a time.
Good luck.

The Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines all have pilots and will pay your way through college in an ROTC program. It is possible to enlist in the Army and go through its flight training without going to college, but college is still a good idea.
Otherwise, you should take flying lessons and get your private pilot's license. Once you have your private license, continue with lessons to get your commercial license. At that point, you can be paid for flying -- although finding customers is not always easy!
One way to get cheap flying time is to join your local Civil Air Patrol. Also, an airport nearby might also have a flying club that you can join. These can cost some money initially but you get access to an airplane at a lower hourly rate.

I took ground school as a class in High School. But Basically, find a place that trains pilots, i.e.. Great Western Aviation, etc...
You take ground school, where you learn all the FAR's (FAA Regulations) you learn about instrumentation, bernoulli effect, plotting charts, fuel economy, control surfaces, etc... Then you start flying. I believe you need 50 hours to be a private pilot. Oh, by the way, prepare to spend about $5000

get a medical first, if your eyesight or hearing are not good enough, it is better to find out now before spending thousands of dollars.
You also need a very calm personality (if that makes sense). eg if someone bursts a balloon in the back of your car, do you shout OMG and drive into a tree or are you the sort who can keep focus, slow down the car and park under control and completely safely.
The world needs excitable people as well as calm people, it is just that we would rather have the calm ones driving our planes!

Pilot requires good eyesight and good hearing. So ask yourself these two basic requirement. Good speech is also a must. Without all these, even if you can be a pilot, your life will be endangered. No trainers would like to fly with you. You are also required to go through "G-Force" test to see if you can overcome sudden height change. Often pilot dies due to this factor. You must see TOP GUN to understand this.
When you are enlisted to army, there will be opportunity for you to try. Else try joining directly to Air Force Pilot entry test.

Give the points to agruntsgrunt.
Only a flight instructor can give you a license, even in the service.
