What is the meaning of life? All religions welcome to answer. No answer is wrong or right, I just wonder what everyone else thinks. Is it to be fruitful and multiply? To worship a certain God or gods? To become, as Neitsche said, Uberman? Thank you for your answers.

I just answered this for someone else...
What is the meaning of life? I once was asked that as a essay question. Everyone is given the chance to educate themself and to become independent in the world. There is this old indian song that states: Don't look back at the past, don't think about the future; just live life to the fullest. This question can be answered differently for each person who asks it. For me, life is an oppurtunity, an open blank book waiting to filled with a story that I create. I am one of those people who is really artistic and creative. So life is like a movie. A suspense because you never know the future. That's what i love about it. I mean every movie has its downs and ups, like a rollercoaster. Life is an adventure. And as Forrest Gump says, "life is like a box of chocolates. you never know what you're going to get." Its the experience that keeps us going...

People born in different religions finally reachthe same God as river born in different places finally reaches the sea.
read following-
Swami Vivekananda when returned to India
"Brothers and sisters, the long night is at last drawing to a close. Miseries and sorrows are disappearing. Ours is a sacred country. She is gradually waking up, thanks to the fresh breeze all around. Her might no one can overcome."

"Are you prepared for all sacrifices for the sake of our motherland? If you are, then you can rid the land of poverty and ignorance. Do you know that millions of our countrymen are starving and miserable? Do you feel for them? Do you so much as shed a tear for them?"

"Have you the courage to face any hurdles, however formidable? Have you the determination to pursue your goal, even if those near and dear to you oppose you? You can be free men only if you have confidence in yourselves. You should develop a strong physique. You should shape your mind through study and mediation. Only then will victory be yours."

"I loved my motherland dearly before I went to America and England. After my return, every particle of the dust of this land seems sacred to me."

there is no sphere of existence,

including organic and inorganic nature,

that is not full of holy sparks which are mixed up with husks and need to be seperated from the husks and lifted up

every particle in our physical universe,

every structure and every being,

is a shell that contains sparks of holiness

the way these sparks are raised is through acts of lovingkindness

of being in harmony wsith the universe

and through higher awareness

everything in daily life presents sparks locked in husks awaiting release

I have always been a Christian and I must admit with work, my daughters school work, maintaining my home and still finding time to spend quality time with my little one and cater to my man....I don't always have the energy to make it every service.

So to me...of course we are suppose to put the Lord first in our lives but we also have to live which to me means....Go to school, work, find a love, pro-create and die. As simple as that. So make the best of it. That was a great question. I can't wait to see what the others have to say.

God created life in order to experience his own creation. Knowing that, one can better understand the Schroedinger's Cat paradox in physics.

I believe that we have lived past lives and we reincarnate back here for a specific purpose. I hope that I am achieving my goal and that the Lord will help me.

Ultimately, to learn, to know and to grow. There's no better way to serve yourself, your community, your friends, your family and your god, gods or all-that-you-might worship (or not.)
