Isn't it the vastness of space?
In this category, I guess it's the place where souls are sent to be without contact from God.

LOL the void wow!
It could just be called existence, but I don't think you will except that, so:
It is Space (forget about this universe).
or better maybe distance. Space in all directions on all dimensions. (there is an exception to this next)
There is nothing in the void, no light, no matter, not so much as a quark. There is no heat, nothing!
The void is almost void.
You could stack 1 trillion universes our size into a cube turn on all the stars bright and get far enough away in the void that not only can you not see them you would never be able to find them again.
The void is so large that where ever you are in the void (if by special dispensation you could be there) you would be in the very center of the void.
The void just is! It has been forever, and will be forever.
In this void has been forever an amount of Energy, pure energy. And for all eternity this energy has never left the center of the void, thou it could send long rays of energy across countless light-years of distance, has always been in the center of the void.
For all eternity this energy has had at least one thought, I AM

Genesis:
1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
In this context, 'void' can either mean 'nothingness' or 'empty'. At the time this was written, though, there was no concept of 'nothingness'... the idea of 'zero' (nothing) was not invented (discovered?) until a few thousand years later, in India. So, with that in mind, the Genesis reference to 'void' can ONLY mean 'empty'. That being the case, God did not work his magic on 'nothingness'... the 'earth' already existed as a formless glop of water, devoid of content.
(Just ANOTHER reason that the Wholly Babble is horseshit.)
