My friend has a 12 year old almost 13 year old. She's already started her period, etc. I was talking to my friend about conception as to whether or not it's the right age to talk about it. I told her once they start their period it's possible for them to conceive. She said her daughter is to young, it began to make me wonder a bit if I was wrong. So I'm asking for opinions as to whether you think it's possible. If infact I can show her and she'll have a little bit more of an insight on how young and different things are today then they have been in the past.

yep, 100% possible and has happened before, UKs current youngest mom is 11 I think?
And here, i heard girls loosing their virginities(to older guys) as young as 10... Better inform her quick, i think alot the problems is due to the bible belt thing and children being "to young" to talk to about sex.

Well there was a report back in 2005 that stated a 12, 14, and 16 year old gave birth. Though I think that the majority of the time pregnancy at that age normally ends in a miscarriage.

YES, it is totally possible, not good or right, but possible.
a girl can get pregnant from the first time she ovulates, even before she has an actual period. i have heard of girls even younger than that getting pregnant. it's so sad that the world has come to kids that young having babies. used to you thought 17 year old was horrible having a baby, today, it's almost typical, cause when 13 year olds are having babies, then 17 doesn't sound so bad.

Once you start your period you can to conceive. Just ask a doctor. There are 10 year olds having kids even 12 just like her. Explain that.

Hospital where I work recently had a patient have a baby a few days after her 11th birthday. Authorities did not figure out that she was pregnant until too late for abortion. Her abuser is in jail. Periods are a sign that the girl/woman is ovulating and it is indeed possible to get pregnant. Her body may not be ready in other ways - she may be still growing - but indeed pregnancy is possible.

It's very possible. I know a girl who was molested and got pregnant at 11 years old. When the periods start, so can conception.

it is very possible for a 12 year old to conceive. but it also depends on the girls health also, is she fat, chubby, skinny, or another type of physical trait? if she is real attractive, it may help a lot! lol lol but as a gen rule, if she has intercouse at this age, conceivment can be very possible. precautions need to be used here & of course the birds & bees talk. good luck!

I have worked in a maternity ward and I have seen my fair share of 12 & 13 year old little girls having babies. It's heart breaking & disgusting that someone would want to corrupt such a young life.

Yes, very possible to conceive once they start their period, and have sex. It only takes one time to get pregnant !
