I was following a group of cars for a lunch rendezvous and forgot to switch to the cash toll booth. I still have my entrance ticket. Can I use this as argument to not pay the administration & penalty fee? I think it will come out to $25 total. Or should i just pay this amount instead of risk getting a higher penalty?

I say just pay it off.

Funny story about E-Z Pass... My 80 year old grandpa lives in Florida. He came up to New York to visit us last year. During the day, he wanted to go to Canada (we live 40 minutes away) to go to the horse races. So my dad let him borrow his car with the E-Z Pass.

A few months go by and my dad gets a bill in the mail for a $20 fine, plus a $50 speeding ticket. Says he went 85 miles per hour through the E-Z Pass! My dad called 'em up and said he's never driven that fast in his life. Turns out the day that happened was when my grandpa borrowed the car.

When my dad talked to my grandpa (his dad), my grandpa's responce was "What's so easy about it if you have to slow down?!" Hahaha, priceless.

I did this the opposite way on the Mass Pike - got on thru the EZ pass and had to Pay the whole length of the pike to where I got off. I felt pretty dumb and the guy at the booth just laughed and said it happens everyday.

Just pay the penalty. I use ezpass all the time and think it great. I know from work experience that they usually just send you a violation notice.

Just pay the $25.00. They have cameras at every booth (EZ Pass booth or pay booth) and you can bet they have your license number and maybe even a picture of you also. If you don't pay the $25.00 it'll be a sure bet you will be paying a steep fine and/or doing jail time if you don't act now.

Just pay the $25.00 fee...they definitely have your license plate number already and will be sending you a ticket shortly...pay the fee now and avoid the higher penalty.

I'd just pay the $25. You aren't likely to win and if you lose that would just add to the costs.
