I have a toy poodle. She weights 11 pounds, so I basically consider her in between a toy and a miniature. Thats about the max. size within the standards. The line separating the minature and toy is kinda foggy because babies can turn out larger or smaller than expected. There really isn't too much of a genetic difference in the different size classes of poodles. Its like a person being short or tall.
According to breed standards on dogbreedinfo.com---

*Toy Poodle*
(not tiny toy or teacup which are sickly dog that are very fragile sue to their unnaturally small size)
Weight- 6 to 9 pounds
Height- (to the shoulder) up to 10 inches
Life Span- 12 to 15 years
*Miniature Poodle*
Weight- 15 to 17 pounds
Height- (to the shoulder) 11 to 15 inches
Life Span- 12 to 15 years

A poodle may be smaller or larger than those descriptions, this just means they are not of show quality. They can still be awesome pets. Toy poodles will not die easily. They are hardy, intellegent dogs that will live even longer than the expected life span with good care.

Size Comparisons---
*Toy Poodle*
Can be compared to the size of a maltese or pomerainian
*Miniature Poodle*
Relative to the size of a Bichon Frise
(still just image a dog slightly larger than the ones listed for the toy poodle)

Toy poodles are about the size of a maltese - and minis vary greatly in size it seems, but should be about the size of a sheltie.

A toy poodle should be just as healthy as any other breed.

Honey, any 'TOY' baby is going to be very small. I honestly think it is just different folks' versions of the words, know what I mean? 'Teacup' is an even smaller version. There are so many names like miniature, etc.....I have been called that myself, lol!!!! Honey? Length doesn't matter. Girth is key! LOL! I don't even know why I said that either! LOL! Just love your puppy. I'm looking for a little chihuahua myself. LOL! I know I didn't answer your question but it was fun. Thanks for the smiles. :) ((((Sheri))))

"LENGTH"???
IT'S ***HEIGHT**!!!
Measured at the withers(oh,you don't know anything,sorry-SHOULDER)
Toys are up to 10 IN.,miniature 10-15.
WHY don't/didn't you do any RESEARCH??? Go to the AKC site & READ the BREED STANDARDS!

PS:there's NO SUCH THING as "teacup" ANYTHING!!!
