No. Not really. Your engine/fuel system create a negative pressure in the gas tank that allows for the smooth withdrawal of fuel. Often times (depending on the year and model of your car) the "service engine" light will come on. On the other hand; it's probably not "dangerous," but I am sure the official line would be that it could cause a potential fire safety hazard. Sort answer: Put your gas cap back on. If you spaced it out and left it at the filling station; splurge and spend the five bucks to get a new one. Just consider the five dollars a "stupid tax" and maybe it will help you to remember your gas cap in the future. Best of luck to you.

I've done it before when I forgot to put the cap back on before driving away form the filling station. But you should replace it ASAP, because I think the gasoline can evaporate from your tank. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong on that evaporation thing!!

yes. no harm done... except if people want to be bums, they could syphen your gas. the newer cars have screens several inches into the tank to prevent this from happening.

I don't think so I heard your gas evaporates and also youcan get gunk in there that could screw up your engine.

there not a problem but sometimes it will trigger you check engine light to pop up
