I'm sure the Beijing government will use this photo for their own propaganda purposes.
I wonder about the people who answer your question by saying it's just a flag. Do they feel the same way about the American flag? Or do they feel that only the American flag has value and every other flag is just cloth to burn?

My own opinion is, in the USA, it is our right to burn a flag of another country (or our own) in protest. However, if a person is an American citizen of the USA he should not be burning the flag of the USA. No one 'should' be burning flags of other countries out of respect for those countries. If they want to protest, they shouldn't resort to burning a flag in protest.
If an American flag is dropped on the ground or retired it is suppose to be burned. Maybe those guys in the picture were retiring a flag.

i do no longer think of flag burning is a brilliant deal. it is fairly insulting specific.. yet no person has the spectacular to tell somebody else to no longer do it. additionally... Why is a few of those extremely-nationalist idiots continuously get mad whilst somebody burns a f*cking flag or sits during the national anthem yet turn a blind I to all of the bullsh*t this us of a pulls international and interior of it relatively is own borders?... possibly the guy who burns a flag is doing with a view to show human beings's interest to issues that would desire to be corrected. As no longer common because it possibly for those media cradled morons to have confidence, some human beings awaken in morning and have fun being human and being alive, no longer being american... and once you think of like which you savour ALL of humanity for what it is and not for persons's nationality..... so if your government abuses it relatively is own human beings or foreigners and you do no longer like it, then specific... burn the flag To all and sundry who pronounced infantrymen who died for our freedom. i in my view do sense for the infantrymen who've given their lives thinking they have been protecting the U.S. , yet their deaths are not a rationalization for me to pretend that the U.S. is a utopia with a suited government. it relatively is unquestionably the choice... whilst human beings DIED for something to be a undeniable way and destiny generations of politians trample their efforts, then you rather enable be frequently utilized in any way a threat.

It's just a piece of material.
Flag burning is symbolic. I mean, if I even had an American flag, I'd probably have already burned it.

It looks like Mr. Miagi and Danielson got too close to the Dojo flag with their cigars they smoked after defeating Kobra Kai.
