Mostly water. It acts as a buffer to protect the damaged skin underneath. You shouldn't pop them, they have a purpose. The longer you can keep the blister, less chance of scarring and infection. Nature's way of healing.

puss does not come from a blister.. it is water that comes out of a blister. and it is fine to pop them. i pop mine whenever i get one.
