he will be find don't worry, you got your basis covered they willl have enough food and water and your mother in law will be over to check on them and clean the litter box and give them fresh water and some attention.
He will love you when you get home! trust me, I've had to leave abruptly (family emergency out of state) and leave my boyfriend watching our kittens for 5 days and I got home the kittens stayed right next to me all night, they did seem a little concerned for a few days when i would go to work if I was coming home that night. but they got through it just fine. and then recently both me and my boyfriend went on vacation for about 4 days and my land lady would come up and feed them and give them their meds and clean the litterbox and make sure the drink well pet fountain had enough water in it. and again they were fine, they wanted to stay right by my side the rest of the night but weren't as concerned whe we would leave.

How old is the kitten? How long have you had him?
Cats don't suffer separation anxiety as much as dogs. Cats are also very independent and can be left alone for a few days.
Your MIL is checking on the kitten, and you have tried to make the kitten comfortable in your absence. He will be fine while you are away.
Leave the radio on a station with soothing music while you are gone. Bring tabby a special treat when you return.

Your kittie won't be mad at you he will be glad to see you back, I got 3 cats and I have had them for 5 years, my husband and I go on vacation during the year and during the 4 day weekends we are always gone, and as long as our cats have food and water they are fine, I have left them by themselves for a whole week, I just ask my neighbor to come over and change their litter and give them fresh water and they are just fine. That is one of the joys of having cats, they take care of themselves. I have not left them by themselves for over a week whenever we plan our vacation we make sure it is only one week, and on the 4 day weekends they do fine as well. Whenever we get back it is awesome because they act all silly they run around and talk and you can just tell they are glad to see you back and we are too, when we are gone we talk about them all the time!! If your mom will stop to visit then he will be just fine.

Seems like you have all of your bases covered. I am glad that your mother in law will check on him to give him more food if necessary. You won't be gone too long but he may still be mad at you when you get back. My cats are mad at us when we leave to go out of town. Particularly my oldest cat will allow us to approach her but then she will run from us before we can pick her up. I think that is her way of letting us know that she is visibly mad at us. But don't worry, if he does get mad at you, he will get over it.

If you want, leave out a shirt you've worn, so kitty can sleep on it, and it'll smell like you. Maybe somewhere where you spend a lot of time, like your bed. I generally leave the radio on as well (tuned to a jazz radio station), so the house doesn't get too quiet.
Cats are independant, and are able to entertain themselves, so don't worry about it too much. You've made efforts to have him taken care of, so he'll be fine.

I have a cat myself and have left her alone for as long as 4 days (with someone checking on her every other day). Cats are naturally mischevious and she may do some stuff to show he is annoyed at you being gone, such as unrolling the toilet paper, tearing up the paper towels, etc...but trust me...they are forgiving and will just be glad to see you when you are home.

the first time I had to leave my darling Hippie, he grow to be 3 a million/2 months previous, and it grow to be for 4 days and nights. :( i grow to be worried sick about him the entire time, and cried plenty haha. We did no longer have every person to envision on him, both. ok, you truthfully do not desire 2 vehicle-feeders and vehicle-waterers. one in all each and each will be way more effective than adequate, it grow to be even as i grow to be lengthy gone for that lengthy. also, once you're worried about the clutter field getting too gross, purchase him yet another! i purchased Hippie yet another, and he's been making use of both interior the same room ever when you consider that. weird and wonderful, he is going pee in the toddler and poop in the huge one haha. go away numerous toys round for him to play with, and once you've a smaller television (or a radio), go away it on so he gained't sense so on my own. also, spray your cologne or body spray on a number of your clothing, and go away them in a pile on the mattress for him to snuggle with. he will be fantastic. :)

i am on vacation now and we went through the EXACT same thing. my mom is a vet so she knew what to do with him. try to have one of your friends or someone that the kitten has seen before to either take them to their house or stop by once a day. (and to keep him busy while your gone, its fun to hide cat treats around the house for him to find if you have any. that way he is kept busy and not waiting around for you to get back)
