if you have a breakdown at work, it's best to just take a break and cry for a few minutes. depending on the situation, pull yourself together and get back to work. if it's something worse, talk to someone or just leave. usually people can tell when you're not having a good day, and your boss might assume that you're sick.

Talk to your boss if you find them approachable and discuss some sick leave. Go and see your gp asap and tell them your exact symptoms they will explain what you are going through and maybe prescribe the necessary meds or counselling you are needing. Don't just walk out as this will only make you more anxious and leave you without a job to go back to when you are feeling better.REMEMBER YOU ARE NOT GOING MAD!Plz visit gp though asap you are obviously under extreme stress.

See your human resources office and get FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) paperwork. Make an appointment with a psychiatrist , have them fill it out and return it to work. That way you can take some time off if you need it, your job is protected, and you can use any sick or vacation pay you have coming.

Address why you have had an emotional breakdown. Are you drinking, doing drugs or smoking a lot? Do you drink too much coffee? Is there a situation which has caused this?

depends on who you affected. if only you then you may need to take some sick leave to regroup. if not then you may need to patch things up before you lose your job or your status in the workplace.
