SVT means "special vehicles team"

RS means "rally sport"

ZX3 is just a sport package.

FR and ST are just option packages and really have no acronym

I did some research on www.edmunds.com and found that Ford only has different versions of the ZX3, ZX5 and ZXW in the US in 2006. The ZX3 is a two-door hatchback, the ZX5 is a four-door sedan and the ZXW is a four-door wagon. Each of these models come in three levels of accessories, S, SE and SES. For example, the base model of the ZX5 is the ZX5 S. The top-of-the-line is the ZX5 SES, which will have the nicest interior, fanciest wheels and so forth.

All these models have a four-cylinder, 136-hp engine. According to www.edmunds.com, Ford is not making the Focus SVT or Focus RS this year. As far as I could tell, neither has been made for several years.

I rented a 2004 ZX5 SE and it was a decent little compact car. It was peppy, fun to drive and got very good gas mileage.

ZX3 is the base two door hatchback - the three stands for two doors plus one hatch. The originals came with 130 hp.

SVT is one modified by the Specialty Vehicles Team. This one had 170 hp and was only sold in the United States.

ST was a later performance version - I think it came in 150 hp, but I'm not sure.

FR200 is Ford Racing. Not sure about the specs, but this was not a production car as much as something Ford built to show off their aftermarket parts line.

RS is Rally Sport. It's a 212 horsepower turbo car meant to look like the WRC racers but without the all wheel drive. Only available in Europe, which annoys American owners no end.

The only one that really matters is the svt. It has the most horsepower by far. All the rest are just the trim options and interior packages offered by ford. SVT all the way
