I believe they do.
You will get different opinions regarding this because no one knows for sure.
People are always trying to find another explanation for them.

Yes 100% but most people will not accept it, because it would blow so called religion away, along with most of the church.
You have to understand that lots of people believe in books like the bible word for word, but they don't check history which can prove a lot of it incorrect.
Spirits do come to us, they are not evil, but do be aware that there are a lot of con artist out there that will charge the earth to contact the spirit world for you, I'm not saying they can't, but just watch out.
Spirits can become earth bound, some want to stay here, some do not even realise they have passed over, others can be helped.
Do not be afraid if you feel a presence near you, and i guess you have, maybe you thought that someone was behind you??
Well maybe, but it is easy to let your imagination run away with you. I have often sat in a grave yard in the middle of the night, and have seen many spirits, but there are also times when I thought is that a spirit, or just a Shadow, but again yes they do exist, and i know you are going to get a lot of answers saying it's all in the mind, well let them think that.
Have faith in God, & Jesus

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen. It's an explanation other people will understand.
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving a God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and un-kept.
The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."
"Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

first thing- HAVE U SEEN A Ghost??
ghosts are just another amusing creation of the human mind
however in reality ghastly fear is a psycological state of mind usually in distress which compels to believe in what really does not exist
but WHAT ABOUT THOSE ENCOUNTERS??
in a search it has been found that the background of people who claim 2 have encountered such supernatural happenings is either torn up by bad relationships or have lost hope
i personally feel that even if ghosts were to exist u still don need to worry cos there's still a greater supreme entity governing each and every little thing in this universe and far more
he is with u and was always with u and will be with u forever
just fear him and ur sins
lead a good life and stay away from all crazy and nonsense stuff

Practically all ghost stories I hear are in old buildings or dark forests and here lies the clue.
What do they both have in common? they are dark dank places and often have very heavy atmosphere, ie after storms low cloud and rain etc.
Before electricity when they used candles etc light was weak and poor and it is possible that some of the blue light was too weak to escape and so it remained suspended in time and space.
Which means that its reflected light a woman for example, walking along a dark, corridor late at night could not escape.
And so there she remained until the light through assistance from electrical storms gathered enough strength to escape, perhaps hundreds of years later so what we now see as ghosts are just ancient images of people going about their normal nightly business.
Why no heads? because the candle was held out low in front of them to see the stone floor as they walked and the light only reflected their bodies. Or walking through walls because in the interceding years those corridors were blocked off.
It's just a scientific phenomena that hasn't yet been proved.
Mine own idea but I like it!
Hope that's taken away some of your fears?

It depends in what form your referring to? I believe that sometimes, when they die, people can leave behind a presence or a spirit like energy or a feeling.
I once read that energy never disappears, it simply changes form. So when a person dies, their energy is still there, but in a different form.
I find the idea of ghosts as an image of a person or walking about clanging chains and throwing plates about or whatever truly ridiculous and I don't believe for a second that any of these accounts are genuine.

People have different views of what ghosts are. I would take them to be disembodied appearances of dead people. They clearly do not exist in the way we normally mean, because although they are apparently visible to some they are not to others. This means that even if they are some kind of manifestation, it needs the right person to "see" it. This suggests that they are seen with the mind's eye. Such things do not "exist" in the normal sense of the word.

I wrote about this before and if you read the Bible, in Ephesians Chapter 6, you will find out that we are up against the powers of darkness. Ghosts were never my scene, but I do believe that the devil will go to any length to make people see and believe other things to lead you away from God.
Your best protection is for you to put your trust in Jesus Christ and read Christian literature and speak to really Born-Again-Christians. Then ghosts will just be another word in the dictionary.

If when you read the bible it refers to Gods spirit as the Holy Ghost...this is basically His spirit....The angel Lucifer who we now know as the devil ..according to the bible was cast out him and 1/3 of the angels(this is not a mormon story) according to the bible. Those spirits became evil..since they were deceived by the devil and were cas tout ...now those spirits still roam...some are locked up till there time to be loosed...Revelations 9...these are evil spirits reserved till that day because if they were loosed right now they could kill men...when they are loosed they will be given to hurt men only ...because they will not repent...To summarize there are only 2 types of spirits Gods including his angels and the devil including those evil spirits we call demons..there does not exist a persons spirit in the earth..that is not biblical...God bless

As a person who has been clinically dead and saw the "other side" and returned, I say ghosts do exist. They are not "placed anywhere". They are people who died and do not realize they have died. They believe they are alive and are confused that no one will listen to them and they wander around trying to understand what has happened. If you see, one try to convince them they have died and need to approach the "White light".

I think so, but they don't wear white sheets, or moan in the night.
I have had a couple of experiences, neither actually frightening, but one did actuially make the hair on the back of my neck stand up! That's never happened before or since.
If I had to say yes or no, I'd have to say yes.
