Everytime I have one drink I get a migraine. This is new. I used to be able to drink A LOT. It started that I could almost get through the night, then half way through now one drink and I get a BAD headache. I usually drink rum Ive tried vodka and wine coolers they all do the same all though the rum is the worst. Iam not a small person. I used to be able to drink all night. Is it like my boyfriend said, did I abuse the privildge? Could it be a sugar problem?

It is possible to be allergic to alcohol. I can only suggest to go to your doctor and discuss it. She/he would be able to help you - maybe do some tests. A friend of mine was born allergic to alcohol and couldn't even have a swab before an injection. Might just be a sugar problem but best way is to see your doc and get the RIGHT answer (not some stranger giving you advice over the Net. Oops!) :-)

I don't have an answer but the same problem. And like you it came on recently and I used to be able to drink gallons. God hates me, I sometimes joke. But one thing that I have found that seems to help, is to drink a bottle of gatorade or poweade just before drinking, and, if you can remember and aren't passed out in a ditch somewhere, right before turning in. If unavailable, A LOT of water seems to help too.

I feel your pain! I often wonder if I'm allergic to beer because every time I drink it, i wake up sneezing, runny or stuffy nose and a headache. I started taking allergy medicine before going to bed at night and it helps a lot!

sure! a friend have that problem whenever she drinks alcohol but she also has sneezing problems!

BUT
you should contact a neurologist for advice too! because you are talking about migraine ... alcohol may turn migraine loads worse!
Maybe that's just migraine and alcohol is just something like a switcher.

You need professional help, visit a doc!

good luck sweetie!

I think I'm allergic too. Sometimes when I drink too much, I throw up!

its not an allergy... you just need to tone down. i would advise to take a brain scan to be sure you have nothing lurking around.
