Congrats! I just got married in May and I was in the same situation. I would suggest not going through ebay becasue you never really know the condition of the dress or the fit. The fit is a big thing becasue wedding dresses run so different from maker to maker. Plus if you have to get it clean it can run a lot of money. I found a discount wedding store here in the US I'm not sure what you have over where you are but you should be able to find something local. Also watch for ads. Sometimes stores have specials if you have brides maids or your soon to be husband is renting tux's. Good luck and have fun. The dress is the hardest part of everything. It's your day and you want to look like the princess you deserve to be.

You have several options. EBay is a great choice...you'll likely have a huge variety of styles and sizes to choose from. Or check out the classified section in your local paper. People often sell their wedding dresses, and you are likely to get a great deal. Renting is also a great idea. Your husband will very likely be renting his tux, so there is no problem with you renting your dress as well...the memories will be the same! Also, white was a very popular color for the past prom season...stores that carry prom dresses may have white dresses at a reasonable price now that the prom season is over.

Whatever you do, best of luck as a bride and wife...congratulations!

TK Max can be very hit and miss, but if you go in regularly you can sometimes find stunning designer wedding dresses for bargan prices. I would also recommend looking for a factory outlet or end of line wedding shop. My sister found one in the phone book and was able to get a stunning designer dress for £200, when it should have been £1200. The reason was that the dress was a former shop display model and had a tiny mark on it. She had a dress-maker fix it for very little cost. If you cant find a factory or end of line retail shop, try e-bay there are always women selling their dresses, and you should be able to find something very unique.

Good Luck and Congratulations!!

Have you looked in an outlet mall or even a thrift store? Very cheap and nice. I had my gown made by a seamtress in town for about $200. Do you have relatives that sew? Maybe you could find the pattern of the dress you like and get someone to sew it for you. Just a thought.

Try second hand stores and consignment stores sometimes they have beautiful wedding dresses donated. Also some bridal stores will run great sales at the end of the season to get rid of last season styles. Also look in the newspapers classified section.

Try renting a dress for the wedding. Look on the internet for a wedding dress renatal service in your area. This way you can wear a very expensive dress if you choose.

Why pay a fortune for a dress that you will only wear once (hopefully)?

Why don't you try Ebay? or local classifieds. You are bound to get a bargain, or even find somebody who is willing to make a dress tailor made to you for a much lower price. Also look into getting a pattern and hiring a seamstress or tailor to do the job for you, it could work out cheaper and get you something really unique for your special day

I hope it goes well for you

A friend of mine found a beautiful evening dress in Monsoon.
It was under £200. It made an unusual and quite stunning wedding dress.

Alternatively do you know any one who could make one for you.
