Its your diet. You are eating way too much junk. Try a healthier diet, eg no fried foods, fast food etc, eat more white meat chicken, fish, and take a good multiple vitamin. It should clear up in a short time

did you burn your tongue on something hot recently? I know that my tongue hurts for a few days sometimes after I eat or drink something too hot. Also, i sometimes wake up with my tongue all swollen if i have the air up too cold or a fan directly on me. if your tongue is really sore, you might want to try sucking on some ice for a bit.

Sounds like you are a mouth breather when you sleep. You breathe with your mouth open and your tongue becomes dry and may become irritated especially in the winter when the air is especially dry. I suggest that you buy a product made especially for dry mouth. One such product is Biotene (sp?) mouthwash. Use it when you go to bed and during the night if you wake up to go to the BR etc...

Maybe it's a geographic tongue, but I need more of a description. Are there circles on your tongue with a white outline?
You should google "geographic tongue". If you have it, it isn't a life threatening disease just an annoyance brought on by stress.

Did you actually go to the doctor to see if it is thrush? That is what it sounds like. One thing you can do to alleviate the pain in gargle with warm, salt water. In the meantime, I would see a doctor about it.
