I would find it annoying if someone came to me and asked for my help and I say 'yes' or 'no' and they keep on asking me for my help. Specially if I said 'yes' and they keep on asking me, that is silly i think.
If christians believe God knows all things, then 1) why ask at all and 2) why ask more than once?

You are right/ I do pray about things when new information comes or the situation changes, but I believe that God hears me the first time and answers. He may want me to wait for some reason and I continue waiting and asking him what I should be doing now. But I don't keep repeating over and over the same prayer. He does hear and many times wants me to wait patiently for the answer. This is not McDonalds, everything doesn't happen instantly.. Sometimes he says NO and I accept that.

Praying often becomes monologue, or, one person talking while the other listens. Prayer should be a dialogue, meaning, we should pray/ask god, then sit back and be still, be quite, and listen. So, if someone is always praying for the same thing, and not getting that thing, then they are begging. Chances are, they have received a message but its not the one they want, or they are not praying for the right reasons, or they are not listening to what the answer is, or simply ignoring the answer completely.

Yes, You are Right, Its Annoying..
Generally People who are in lower stages of Advancement, they keep praying for various necessities.. Like O God Give us our Daily Bread ..
God is already supplying every one, even the animals their needs... So an intelligent person will think why should i ask for those things?
I am already getting what i am supposed to get according to my Karma or Deeds...
Then Why Pray ?
In advanced Stage the Prayers are expression of Love and Gratitude.. and asking for more Service to serve God ... This kind of Prayers are very Pleasing to God... After all he is the best well wisher, the most lovable and one who never leaves us ..
In the beginning Stages however it is allowed if Some one approaches God to Ask for needs... under the consideration that at-least he is approaching God...so he may get opportunity to understand God and then learn the advanced way of Praying and worshiping...
You seem to be more Intelligent from you Questions... I recommend that you read Bhagavad Gita As It Is...

there are different levels of prayer.....one level is very simple and the answer comes quickly..... when there is not answer , it seems, it is because there is supernatural interference to the answer, like in Daniels' prayer... who had to pray for 3 weeks, but could not get an answer until 3 wekkls later. the angel that came to him said the satanic forces were fighting with the angels to prevent the delievery of the answer.

Ususally the the greater the need, the greater the answer, but also the greater tht amount of demonic opposition will occur. When this happens, you could go into what is called "prevailing prayer," which means continual prayer until you get a breakthrough.

Jesus said to ask, seek, knock... the asking prayer is easy.... the seeking prayer takes longer.... and finally the knocking prayer really deals with the hardest of issues....do the best you can for your friend.

For some things we need to pray about more than once.

Jesus prayed for a blind man two times as an example. He also said several parables about being persistent.

Daniel prayed for 21 days for an answer to a question. The answer was given to him by an angle, who said that he was sent right away but that Satan had stopped him from delivering it until then.

Samuel keep praying for king Saul until God told him to stop praying.

The contradiction is that Christians believe that you should not 'question' God. That is, when you have a hard question that pastor can't answer. The Christians believe that you should just 'believe' (that is to assume) Even when you don't know. If you ask me for anything and I do not pay you any mind just leave me alone. If that is the way you see it too, then you seem to be a thinker. I pray for you in this world my child!

God always hears us but how many of us hear God? Sometimes we don't know what the answer is that we are given, yes, no, perhaps later. God answers all prayers but we do not always hear and keep on asking until we do hear. We are not given all we want, we are given what we need and only when we need it. Learning to discern the voice of God in our lives can be more difficult for some than others.

I asked my a friend of mine who is a pastor, this question. He said that you only need to ask once. Sometimes we ask more than one on things that we find really important. It is not necessary, but more for routine and consistency. As for your why ask at all question, asking is a physical/mental act that proves that you believe or even if you're skeptical, you are taking the time to ask so you have at a minimum, you are showing some faith.

That is what God wants, us to worship him voluntarily. That is why we have free will. If he reached in our heads and granted request without us asking, what kind of free will is that?

Look at Paul's example, and how he continually prays for his fellow believers everyday. i'm sure he's praying over the same things most of the time. God does know all things, but praying to Him about it helps us as well. For example, when we pray about something, it helps clarify in our mind what exactly we need help for. Praying about the same thing more than once is helpful as well since it trains our perserverence and dilligence and discipline. Say if you just prayed for your friend's salvation one fine day, and neglected to pray about it after, would you yourself still take notice of the fact that your friend is not saved after several years? By praying about it everyday, you are constantly reminding yourself about that too, and so you can do your little part to help your friend. Praying is not about just praying and leaving everything to God, but you have to do your little part too. :)

Change your prayer--you pray what is on your heart--God WANTS you to pray in specifics--He KNOWS what you need before YOU do, But He wants you to trust Him.

After you pray, start looking for the next thing that happens--as a possible answer to your prayer.

You know, I think I have realized that praying for others, takes my mind off of me.
Tell someone you would like prayer--so many would be glad to pray for you.
