Is it destiny or predestination that you are asking about. If it is destiny, then yes, I believe that we all have a destiny, a place in life where we eventually find ourselves, based on our decisions. If you mean predestination, a predetermined path we follow and have no control over, then no. I believe that it is the choices we make that determine the direction in which our life moves. Certainly, there are things that happen which we don't anticipate. But it is not what happens to us, or the gifts we have or receive, but the choices we make that determine the shape of our lives.

Life is kind of like those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books that they used to make. Every couple of pages you need to make a decision for the characters, and the story changes depending on what you choose. We may all end up in the same place, but the adventure in getting there is what we make of it.
So, no. President Washington wouldn't have become president if he did nothing but sit back. The colonies were moving forward to become a nation. If Washington wasn't a leader that the people looked up to, then he wouldn't have been nominated.

Do I believe in Destiny? Yes I do. I think that if something is going to happen to you, it's going to happen to you whether you're aware of it or not. Trying to avoid destiny or change it is only prolonging the enevitable. I think of it this way; everything that happens is already planed out it's like a play there's characters and sets and scripts, the characters follow the scripts ( that would be the people, the animals, the flowers, everthing that is on this planet has a place in this play ) everything else that is around the characters is the set ( that would be like sky and water, but even they are living...only we don't always see them as that, anyways.) Everything has a place, everything has a part, and everything has been planed out. Do I believe in Destiny? Yes... I do. xoxo...........Rachel.........xoxo

Destiny is what we make it. For example, if I decide to stay at home all day versus leaving the house, my destiny is radically different. Everyday we are faced with decisions and choices - some small, some medium, and some major. Each decision impacts our life forever; each decision changes the course of our life from that moment on. So, the answer is, "Probably not."

There are two things that form your destiny: the life you were born into (i.e.: wealthy person, your dad owns a big company), and the things you do. Most likely, if you are a boy (I'm not trying to be sexist), and your dad owns a successful company, you will end up owning the company, too. The second part can basically be anything!

Hesitation is not destiny! Destiny says you will fulfill it whether you want to or not! You have no free will in the matter! If you decided to go down the right path and changed your mind and went down the middle path the middle path was your destiny simply put! However I do believe in only one person was predestined - The LORD Jesus Christ who was crucified before the foundation of the world! We choose what life we live, we chose to change to better or to succumb to the life we are given, in it all we have freedom to chose - Choose this day whom you shall serve and if serving the LORD seems undesirable then choose - it is your freedom life with God or death without Him!

It's always hard to look back and say what if ...since we could go all the way back and ask ...what if Adam and Eve never ate the fruit....but since it did already happen ...in my finite mind Gods plan would have went the way he intended...not mans wrong choice although he knew man would make it...but the plan that was predestined bfore the world was formed..It is just a matter of him knowing ..it is not that he willed chaos and mayhem
One of the things to remember is that our enemy from the beginning fell from his place as an anoited cherub.
And fell into earth...so man has a problem already...the devil was in the world whether in the atmosphere or walking to and fro in the earth....So Adam and Eve...lets say pass their test...somewhere along the line satan would still have opportunity...with the populace that would come from Adam and Eve.....How much more confusion do you think there would be if you had a race of people who could ultimately live forever...since mind you sin is what kills man...Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Remeber God told them the day you eat of the fruit thou shalt surely die....that is what brought death to men ...sin ..not old age ..death is a by product of sin. so now some will live forever and some will die...that's confusion right there in what would have started out to be a perfect world ..now still is tossed into chaos and confusion....there would still have been murders wars ..and all that we know as sin today...
Rather then that if man were going to sin ...let it be from the beginning..that way all men have a common ground ..be it hard as it is......Now all men are in sin ..and none can condemn the next because of it ..we all share the same fate ..death...BUT...we all have our choice...NOW that Christ has come..we can choose eternal life..and still live forever ..but in the presence of the Lord God almighty sharing his glory and joys .....
God will always have a remnant..and his word will fulfill..so whether George washington or George bush...Gods plan will be completed...God bless

yes,I do. And every one should believe because no leaf is turned without his will. How the butter is taken out of just a milk,do you see butter in the milk. Trying to get something is in our hand rest is left to ones destiny.

A fixed preordained destiny only if you also believe in reincarnation. you get to chose the circumstances of what you will try and accomplish when you return to correct any mistakes you made in one of your past lives. the circumstances may be easier or harder. and you have to remember why you decided to come back by communicating with your soul.
