I cant understand why motorcycles are made so fast! why would you use it as a mode of ransport?
For fun on weekends, yes. To look at , yes. otherwise for me, no thanks

I'm 58 years old and have been riding since I was 14. I use my Goldwing for any trip not requiring more carrying capacity than it has. Frankly I would rather ride in the Rocky's during a thunderstorm than drive my wife's Park Avenue. Just something about the open air on an open road.
I preach safety and would not ride without a helmet. At the same time I an 100% anti-helmet law. Let those who ride decide. Not some chauffeur driven limousine rider who happens to be a bureaucrat in charge of my life.
They beat up the motorcyclists successfully, mandated seat belt use, child seats and gutted the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. Will you or your hobby be next???
Think about it.

Motorcycles are fun and can be safe. Unfortunately a lot of drivers drive with their heads up their asses. Cell phones, PDA, and other distractions haven't helped either. (you can't turn your head while holding a cell phone.
I have 1.5 lbs of surgical steel in my leg caused by a collision between my bike and an errant driver who thought he didn't have to use his turn signals. It has affected me for life. I can say as a former police officer, I never allowed someone who didn't use their turn signals a break. You were busted 100% of the time with no mercy.

I find motorcycles fine for toys and playing with. Long drives out in the open country.
Otherwise, they're very unsafe on today's expressways and highways. Especially in states where you can ride without a helmet.'

I can't understand why people use them for regular transportation. I agree with you, trips on the weekend are fine, but I have a neighbor who rides his motorcycle to work everyday. In his work clothes!
