Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter (two sticks)
1-1/2 cup dark sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tsp Vanilla extract
2-1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or 2-1/4 bread flour)
1 tsp baking soda
12-oz semi-sweet chocoalte chip
1) Measure out all ingredients and set aside. Set oven to 375 degrees-F. Combine flour and baking soda by whisking together. Set aside.
2) Using an mixer at high speed cream butter, salt and sugar until its pasty, not too fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add Vanilla and eggs one at a time beating at medium speed, about 1 minute.
3) On slow/low speed add flour mixture careful not to over beat (makes cookie hard). Add chocolate chips to mixture until combine.
4) Chill cookie dough for about 10-15 minutes (this prevents cookies from spreading to much on cookie sheet and gives cookie a nice gourmet look).
5) On an ungreased baking sheet lined with parchment paper, using an icecream scoop (make even size cookies) scoop dough into small balls. Place on cookie sheet about 2-inches apart.
6) Bake in preheated over for 10-12 minutes until cookies just set in center. Cool on cookie sheet for 1-minute then transfer to wire rack to cook completely (I usually eat about four by the time they are cook and drinking a glass of cold milk.).
Now...if you want to follow the recipe on the Nestle Chocolate Chips bag remember these points or your cookies will be really flat:
1) Do not use room temperature butter, and eggs!
2) Chill your cookie dough before or after shaping, then you bake. 3) Do not grease cookie sheet. To much fat and sugar spreads the cookie.
4) If you use a teaspoon size to measure cookie dough, bake for 9-11 minutes.
