There are a lot of scavengers around that thrive off of peoples garbage and any dead animals that they find. Skunks and raccoons are most common, but seagulls, hawks, ravens, crows and feral cats and dogs will also eat them

Usally if a bird is dieing, it will not defend itself from other birds or preditors like snakes. It will sit in one place if it is left alone and simply fall off the perch dead where the ants will eat itsbody and its bones and feathers blow away in the wind. Most of the time though it is likely the birds who go away to die, are those who get caught by snakes looking for a sick bird sitting around waiting to die. Very seldom will you see a dead bird that has not yet been eaten by another animal or insect, because nothing in nature goes to waste.

There is so many animals that eat the corpses of the dead birds, that is why you don't see them, here in South Africa there are plenty of birds that get hit bt trucks and cars, and all you ever see of them is a couple of feathers lying squashed into the roads where they were hit, but I am sure if you look a little bit you will also find this is the case. No they don't go to jungles to die, they die where ever they live and get eaten. This is a vicious world we live in and you have to eat to survive.

This is because nature has maintained a perfect balance.nature has given ability to animals to reproduce and so the adaptation to certain organisms to decompose the dead ones so as to avoid the crowd.Exactly when a bird dies due to severe cold or heavy wind either dogs &cats eat them or rest are eaten by predators.moreover birds are joyfully eaten by man EVEN.

Like somebody else pronounced, birds are many times picked up and carried off with the aid of different animals. If a chook is hit with the aid of a motor vehicle, then many times it is straight away unrecognizable as having been a chook. extra advantageous birds are additionally hit with the aid of autos, yet they are picked up with the aid of human beings whose interest it is to bypass around and p.c.. up ineffective animals. it is why you do no longer see ineffective animals on the component of the line for extra advantageous than a week or 2 (many times). a minimum of no longer in cities.

Most of the answers are correct but no one has pointed out the facts of life.
Survival of the fittest, they die defending their young ones, fighting for territorial right, matting rights..........When that happens they get wounded; now they are easy prey and are eaten alive.
Most wild animal do not die of old age. Birds are one of the most wild and free animal.
